- .RJ - 04-21-2006 All the cars I've owned that I detailed probably arent worthy of knocking the bird shit off of. But I still enjoy it
- ultimagtrlover - 04-29-2006 Just for everyone's enjoyment, here is a link to the guy's website: http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/auto-detailing-home.html Uhhhhh...This guy makes me sick, wait, no, I commend this guy for doing his business, but I am really just not impressed with the public's decision to allow someone to charge such a high amount for something that costs less than $50 on average (to the detailer). For those not informed in the world of professional detailng, this guy is really no better than any other. The biggest difference between him and other detailers is the cost of SOME of his products. His wax, obviously, costs about $8500. It will probably last him a long time. Then you have the paint thickness gun...I believe some cost alot less than the one he uses. My belief is that the reason why he is able to charge soooo much is because nobody is really informed on what his proceedures are, so they won't know how much a detail would actually cost. More importantly, he plays on the psyche of the person who "wants the best," by buying some super expensive wax that is really not necessary to have your paint looking it's best. Like I have always said, POLISH is the key to improving your paint's finish, and he does the same technique as any other detailer does, with a $200 rotary polisher. Now, I'll be honest, I don't have a rotary polisher yet, simply b/c I haven't had the time to learn it, but I used it once and it requires practice, or else you can cut through your paint. With my polisher, it would just take me longer to remedy a tarnished paint finish then with a rotary. The fact is, this guy's cost of materials is probably less than $100, max probably $200 per vehicle. The majority of that cost coming from the wax. Now, here are a few things that the guy did wrong that most detailers would point out: 1. Wash in direct sunlight...no,no,no. Doing this will create water spots in the paint 2. Using a pressure washer....no,no,no. Having pressurized water hitting small particles on the paint will drive these small particles into the paint, causing scratches 3. Washing wheels AFTER washing car...no,no,no. If you wash your wheels after you wash your car, the mist from the wheel cleaning acid will get on your paint and since you would not be washing your car off, that acid will not be rinsed off, therefore pernamently damaging the paint surface. Oh yeah, just to let everyone know, I have created my own personal detailing website. Please take a look at it from here (it was for my COB 204 class): http://student06.jmu.edu/papicx/ - BLINGMW - 04-29-2006 it costs more, it must be better. DUH! ![]() on that point.... couldn't MM offer an $18000 car wash? It'd be twice as good I'm sure! - Feersty - 04-29-2006 Nice site, Ciro! - ultimagtrlover - 04-29-2006 Thanks! Re: $9,000 Car Wash - johnnyaviator - 06-17-2014 Keep in mind the wax he uses is $13,000 a tube. I am not justifying it's cost/performance... but it's something that is guaranteed for a year.... From what read, I haven't used it on my Audi haha Re: $9,000 Car Wash - Senor_Taylor - 06-17-2014 Ghost thread. Spooky! Re: $9,000 Car Wash - ViPER1313 - 06-17-2014 Whoa
