- Evan - 03-22-2006 how hard is it going to be to drive on the street with the twin plate? I HATE driving my ACT 4 puck on the street. Pure hell. - WRXtranceformed - 03-22-2006 Russell at AndrewTech tells me he hates the 4 and 6 puck clutches on the street too. The twin plate is very streetable apparently, same feel as the stock clutch, but just makes some noise when it's depressed, like a slight rattling. Nice streetable clutch that can hold 600 wheel torque. We'll see how much of a difference it is. - .RJ - 03-22-2006 The benefit of a twin plate is that you can get a lot more torque capacity on it without increasing pedal effort - the downsides are noise, cost, packaging, etc
- Evan - 03-23-2006 anyone have a picture of a twin plate? ive never seen one and i cant visualize it - .RJ - 03-23-2006 ![]() ![]()
- JustinG - 03-23-2006 "SPARK" means you can make up a map much like a fuel map to tell the spark plugs when to fire. - WRXtranceformed - 03-23-2006 white97dsm Wrote:"SPARK" means you can make up a map much like a fuel map to tell the spark plugs when to fire.Oh. Maybe? I don't know. I don't think the UTEC is capable of that, but maybe it is and I'm not aware. I haven't tried to tune my car out of pure fear, so I'm not 100% sure of all of the EM's capabilities. - Dave - 05-25-2006 white97dsm Wrote:this car gives me a funny feeling in my pantsyou might want to get that checked out :-) - WRXtranceformed - 05-25-2006 Motor arrived last Friday at Andrewtech! They begin work on it tomorrow, since Andrew just got back from VA Beach and wanted to handle the install personally. They're all just as excited up there as I am to see what the setup is capable of. Sam @ GT Motorsports told Andrew that this motor would be extremely sensitive to knock, so we're not going to be pushing it to the very extreme, especially on pump gas. I'll be curious to see what it's capable of on a conservative tune as originally planned. It should shoot some hella big fireballs too; a rich-running, catless, bored out 2.8L! - ScottyB - 05-25-2006 yeeessssssss - Ryan T - 05-25-2006 I can't wait! - JustinG - 05-26-2006 this car gives me a funny feeling in my pants hock:
- WRXtranceformed - 05-26-2006 Man this forum is serious borked right now. It shows Dave as having had the last post, but I don't see his post? lol |
