- Mike - 03-02-2006 look like honders. - Andy - 03-02-2006 I wish Progress made some coilovers for my car. - CaptainHenreh - 03-02-2006 No, he didn't buy *those*. Geez. - .RJ - 03-02-2006 Andy Wrote:I wish Progress made some coilovers for my car. But Koni makes dampers, and thats all you need to know Its a shame they dont offer a set for the SE-R's.

They do, but its the B15 SE-R. Like CaptainHenreh said, they are inserts and you can build your own shortened body struts with them. You can also use 8611's and make a pretty killer setup with those. - Dave - 06-13-2006 figured I'd update, since I've been working on the car the past few nights. There were a few things found when I had a state inspection, and I had them check for things that would compromise it's track use. Found the following: -driver side ball joint is shot (integral for the LCA=me dropping more$$) -passenger side front wheel bearing -progress rear sway bar -progress front sway bar -progress LCA brace -JWT Popcharger I've got the LCA and both sway bars off the car at this point. The rear sway bar is almost done installing and I'm waiting on the LCA and hub to come in (had to be ordered, so expected to arrive early next week). Front goodies should start going on tomrrow night. I've also decided that VIR will probably also be the last event that I drive in this car (aside from autoX), so I won't be installing the coilovers and it will be retired to primarily daily driver status. My reasoning: I really miss RWD and this will make an excellent commuter for me. Soooooo, if you know anybody with a B13 SE-R looking for a set of the best coilovers made for this chassis, have them call me. Progress is way backordred on these and it will probably be 6 months before any more will start going out (I had to wait 4 months and this time estimate was given after mine was shipped out), so I essentially have one of the only NIB sets available in the US. - ScottyB - 06-13-2006 so whats up next on the list Dave? i love how you're just rollin through the buffet-o-japanese cars.... - Dave - 06-14-2006 next thing I'm considering would be a eurotrash corrado for a DD for a little while. However, right now I'm looking at a truck so I can tow to the track, plus apparently my neighborhood shuts down if it snows, so I need to be able to get to work this winter. - Feersty - 06-14-2006 Where are you living now Dave? - Dave - 06-16-2006 Renting a house in Ruckersville. - Dave - 06-27-2006 Took 2 weeks for the parts to come in, but progress is finally being made. So far: -JWT intake is installed -replaced DS LCA and ball joint -replaced DS strut -replaced PS ball joint -replaced PS wheel bearing (there was a ton of play in it) -installed LCA brace -installed front sway bar still need: -finishing touches on rear progress bar b/c I didn't read the directions -install pedals so I can actually heel-toe this time -oil change -drive around and get used to the car - mpg9999 - 06-28-2006 Dave Wrote:Took 2 weeks for the parts to come in, but progress is finally being made. So far: Did you not have the rear under load when you put those brackets on? Your going to want to have that front sway bar at one of the softer settings and the rear on one of the stiffer settings. At least thats how I'd put them, depends on your driving style I guess .
- mpg9999 - 06-28-2006 here's how I did mine: ![]() And as you probably know you may need to shim the endlinks:
- Dave - 06-28-2006 yeah, i screwed up originally. I never did any height measurement when I first started, so I had to undo some of my stuff so that I could set it on the knuckles to make the L-bracket parallel. I think I've got it figured and should have it done tonight. - Feersty - 06-28-2006 Dave I see you are slowly getting rid of cars, and how many are you going to stick with for the time being? - Dave - 06-29-2006 i'm at my goal right now. Supra for fun, a track car, and a DD. - Dave - 10-26-2006 back from the dead! -so, I sold the Progress coilovers for a bit more than I bought them, so that was good. -I love the car with the new goodies. Turn-in is very aggressive, but the car still feels pretty neutral. I haven't tracked it, or driven it extremely hard for that matter, (nor do I intend to) but I feel like it would be a ton of fun for more than just a DD -coming home from a dinner last Friday, I hit a deer. It didn't sound too bad and it was pitch black so I couldn't see anything, so I drove a couple miles to get to a gas station. Driver front fender, turn signal, and headlight were destroyed. Fender was wrinkled up and bent in so much that the tire rubbed any time it hit a bump. Drove it the rest of the way home. Pulled off old parts in an hour on Saturday and determined nothing else was damaged. Picked up a used (black) fender from a local junkyard on Monday and installed that. Just waiting on some "Ebay special" lights to finish the job. Total repair looks like it will be a bit under $200, so not too bad. I'm just glad it wasn't a big deer and it wasn't a worse wreck, and that I'm okay. -Otherwise, this car has been a perfect daily driver. - CaptainHenreh - 10-26-2006 That car is CURSED. CURSED I SAY! Also -- Tsuru headlights. It'll sell for more. - Maengelito - 10-26-2006 dave, this junkyard you speak of that you've bought parts from, is it MandM salvage? if not, where'd you go? |
