- .RJ - 11-17-2005 The carpet, sound deadening and trim panels is probably 40 lbs. The pass seat/harness and the SRS hardware (wiring harness and ecu) is probably another 30 lbs. And no john, i dont weigh 200 lbs
- .RJ - 11-17-2005 Regarding the chemicals...... do yourself a favor and do this shit outside, with long sleeves/pants, gloves (double bag it), and a facemask of some sort. Just one of those things you dont want to f around with. Its really nasty shit. - .RJ - 11-18-2005 Wire wheel o' death ![]() Cant believe how much shit came out..... ![]()
- JohnC - 11-18-2005 For some reason I was wondering if you had done anything with the headliner... Was there adhesive holding that in too, or just fasteners? - .RJ - 11-18-2005 Headliner was easy.... just remove the dome light, oh shit handle, mirror and visors and it drops on out. Another 5 lbs gone
- .RJ - 11-18-2005 Still coming.......
- .RJ - 11-22-2005 Made an appointment at piper today for January 9th to finish up
- .RJ - 11-29-2005 The little projects continue.... last night I pulled the header and the oil pan off to look for my missing valve adjustment nut... didnt find it, but did find a whole bunch of sludge on my oil pickup screen, so I cleaned that off. Mounted fire bottle, re mounted harness sub belts, pulled inner door panels off..... Tonight I drained, flushed, flushed, flushed and refilled the cooling system (what a pain in the ass job). Also - relocated the gas/hatch release, the stock location would be in the way of the cage tube along the rocker - Original (right over where the spot of crud is) ![]() New: ![]() Reminders are good! (ran out of oil) ![]() Bumper off to measure for tow hook fitting
- Chris - 11-29-2005 coming along very nicely. can't wait to see it all finished! you should send the previous owner in Cali some pics, just to prove you really are crazy. - Feersty - 11-29-2005 What are you daily driving right now? I assume the Miata? Looks good btw. - .RJ - 11-29-2005 Feersty Wrote:What are you daily driving right now? I assume the Miata? Yep. I think I've only driven the 'teg to work 2 or 3 times since I bought the miata. - Feersty - 11-29-2005 Radio comes out next...lol. - Mike - 11-29-2005 Nah, not worth the savings unless he gets a tow vehicle soon. - .RJ - 11-29-2005 Feersty Wrote:Radio comes out next...lol. The alpine stays... and the cupholders
- Feersty - 11-29-2005 So what is your first event? Do you have your competition license yet? I probably should know but I don't. Are you going to race in a Honda Challenge class? - .RJ - 11-29-2005 I'm going to do the comp school at VIR at the end of february, and then do my first race at summit at the end of april Honda Challenge H4. I'm starting to get pretty exited about this! There's alot of hard work, sweat, and doubt (both about the car prep and my ability) but I cant wait to dive in balls deep and get out there.
- white_2kgt - 11-29-2005 .RJ Wrote:I'm going to do the comp school at VIR at the end of february, and then do my first race at summit at the end of april Why not do the comp school on friday and race sat/sunday? - .RJ - 11-29-2005 white_2kgt Wrote:Why not do the comp school on friday and race sat/sunday? Not a HC points race, and I'll be broke after finishing up the car and doing the school (entry is $350 i think )
- Rex4life - 11-29-2005 what are the requirements prior to the comp school, and what does the school consist of? - .RJ - 11-29-2005 Requirements for nasa are that you have done at least 2 (i think) events in HPDE group 3 driving solo, so you'll have to have gone through groups 1 and 2 and a fully prepped car that passes race tech (cage, harnesses, fire bottle, etc). For scca comp school you dont need any prior experience, just show up with the car - but those are 2-3 days and a lot more intense than the nasa school. Just different philosphies on how do it. I'm planning on doing the scca school at some point, just not next year. |
