I have helmets, they are motorcycle but they are on the cheap.

- Myuki - 10-22-2005

dub:
new mass air flow sensor
new rims wrapped in something good
suspension kit, or maybe just shocks and springs
fix cd changer

depends how work goes, i dunoo

- Sijray21 - 10-22-2005

dub:
fix broken window (will not roll up)
fix cold-air idle problem (need to diagnose)
decide exactly what i would like to do with it (keep current engine and work on suspension or plan a swap with effects on suspension and drivetrain)---i really would like to swap in a vr6 (realistically) and get it up and running after i get some money from selling the civic (i get 1/3 of the sale since it was a co-pay with my mom), but i'm not getting rid of the teg till i get the dub where i want it.

teg: (depends on progress of dub)
turn back to stock
put on autotrader/craigslist/whatever...
---will only happen after dub is ready to go

Civic: (yes i still have it)
put on autotrader/craigslist/whatever...

GS500e:
replace chain
inspect brakes
put on new chrome bar i bought along with the bike

i'm not sure how much of this stuff is actually going to get done, but i'll get more of an idea once things slow down a little with the job and the financial situation becomes stable. Ideally i would like to get the dub up and running before the end of March with the goodies i want, but that all depends on how fast i can pay off my credit card and get settled into the new townhouse i'm renting.

tune car...buy a XBOX 360, let my brain rot. Askin for some sway bars for x-mas. Save up for a tein kit to install over the summer.

- WRXtranceformed - 10-22-2005

Dunno if it's happening over this winter or not, but I could be going a couple of routes in the near future:
1) I keep the car-
Replace springs
Replace clutch
JDM Ver7 STI engine and transmission swap, or a custom straight cut gearset

2) I sell the car-
Return car to stock
Buy something else

#2 is going to depend on what new cars come out soon as well as any good deals that might come up on the cars I'm looking for.

- ViPER1313 - 10-23-2005

The inner TREs have been moved up to do it now status - awaiting a $50 Confusedhock: &*^$#(*^# tool to get them replaced. Also, due to the fact my front Kuhmo 711s are showing cord on their insides after 17k miles due to my crappy alignment (im sure Mike is happy,) 2 Fuzion ZRIs are in the mail.

I'd sell the car and buy an STi before I swapped the engine in... IMO.

Yeah a lot less work and you'll have a lot better resale value if you just buy the STi.

I agree with both of you guys. The swap would be cool, unique, and be much stronger than a USDM STI... but there would be too many bugs to work out and a lot of logistics / extra expenses involved in doing it. MUCH easier just to buy a new car heh.

Winter list:

Get a job

With any luck, I will be buying my friends engine out of his wrecked gsr for cheap in a few weeks (assuming he buys the car back), so thats the main goal this winter.

how come all of you Honda guys replace upper and lower control arms at every point on your car as often as DSMs change spark plugs?

- white_2kgt - 10-23-2005

white_2kgt Wrote:Mustang,
Gut interior, install full cage, tow hooks, fire system, new wing, maybe some new paint in places, basically get ready for comp school in Feb if at all possible.

Well most of these guys with project cars have a lot of miles on them.... and oem honda rubber just doesnt last forever. Its sure better than BMW rubber, but replacing them makes a big difference. Also, the upper balljoints arent available separately, you have to buy the whole arm from the dealer - I think about $80/side. I dont have any rubber left in my suspension except for the shock mounts - everything else is metal (spherical bearing) Smile
