He didn't say you will get fucked over, just that things aren't always as rosey as they may seem. - .RJ - 08-15-2005 Mike Wrote:You could have kept your job too had you not been an asshole. Gerald kept his, didn't he? I busted my ass to stay with that company, although in retrospect that was a waste of my time. Feersty Wrote:Well considering this may be my first REAL job I am going to have a positive outlook about it . Don't discourage me by saying I am gonna get f*cked over. I never said you were going to get fucked over. Just put your own interest first and look out for yourself and if you think someone is blowing sunshine up your ass, they probably are. - G.Irish - 08-15-2005 .RJ Wrote:Mike Wrote:You could have kept your job too had you not been an asshole. Gerald kept his, didn't he? Looking back one of 2 things happened to RJ in that situation. Either he got blackballed by the project manager or our HR people were being lazy, incompetent, bastards (or both). I definitely don't think he got a fair shake in that situation because there is a certifiable moron from the project who is still with the company somehow. RJ Wrote:I never said you were going to get fucked over. Just put your own interest first and look out for yourself and if you think someone is blowing sunshine up your ass, they probably are. Take heed kids, put your career first. Not saying don't be a team player but I am saying think big picture in terms of your career. Always think about your career so that you can get where you wanna be. No one else is thinking about what's best for your career, they're just trying to cover their own asses. - .RJ - 08-15-2005 Although I am a bit sore from the whole situation from my previous job, I'm back 'home' near friends/family and my Job is much more rewarding now - in the end it worked out for the best - HAULN-SS - 08-15-2005 as for the union, i wouldnt even be in it, but it's closed shop, so its mandatory. I think we have some jackass redneck as our bargaining person..really dumb - damnit458 - 08-16-2005 .RJ Wrote:Although I am a bit sore from the whole situation from my previous job, I'm back 'home' near friends/family and my Job is much more rewarding now - in the end it worked out for the best Would you mind explaining what happened? Im kind of curious now - .RJ - 08-16-2005 damnit458 Wrote:Would you mind explaining what happened? Im kind of curious now There was a thread about it a while back..... i'm not getting into it again. - Feersty - 08-16-2005 Well when I first got there I took two tests, one timed and one not timed. I then had two interviews with two different people. Those interviews went okay, but as I was going to have the third one, the secretary said that we may not allow you to interview because of your test scores. So they sent me home, and me working at Pace was over. I ran in to a guy from ISAT there, he had 4 concentrations and had 2 theses. I think he got a masters in 4 years. If they were looking for people like that then I obviously wasn't qualified. Still looking people, if you got any lucrative contacts let me know. - Dragon - 08-16-2005 Feersty Wrote:If they were looking for people like that then I obviously wasn't qualified. Feersty Wrote:as I was going to have the third one, the secretary said that we may not allow you to interview because of your test scores Seems to me it wasn't your qualifications it was your test scores. What kind of tests were these? - Sijray21 - 08-16-2005 Dragon Wrote:What kind of tests were these? also wondering this, i never knew employers to give out tests for hiring purposes - damnit458 - 08-16-2005 theguywiththeSi Wrote:Dragon Wrote:What kind of tests were these? Has anybody been subject to taking it as part of applying for a job? - Feersty - 08-16-2005 One was a SAT type test. Had questions on word associations, shapes, if you buy this amount of something how much can you buy with another amount of money. They wanted you to answer 50 questions in 12 minutes. Other questions were about what set of numbers is different. The other test was about Kwh and KW. - Maengelito - 08-16-2005 Feersty Wrote:Still looking people, if you got any lucrative contacts let me know. who says this? its not like you own a company or can run the 40 in 4.1 sec. - G.Irish - 08-16-2005 Maengelito Wrote:Feersty Wrote:Still looking people, if you got any lucrative contacts let me know. My buddy has been looking for a job all summer he has finally decided to do clerical work starting next Monday at a law firm for $12.00 an hour. He was a International Relations major at Mary Washington, so it is understandable that he has not been able to find anything. |
