- WRXtranceformed - 07-18-2005 Nice ride dude ^_^ Very good find. A buddy of mine through the NASIOC meets here in NoVA has an S2k that's a total sleeper. He's purchasing a top end turbo kit for it, no clue which one, and he's done a ton of top secret weight reduction stuff to it. He told me one night that he basically went to his engine bay with a sawzall and cut off a ton of metal bracketry and other things that apparently served little purpose. I think I remember him saying that he also removed all the sound-deadening tar from underneath the floor carpeting. Talk about a PITA! He says he dropped a total of like 300-350 pounds when all was said and done! Noice choice on the white btw, white sports cars are the hotness. My next one will be

Tar and misc bracketry is worth at most 50 lbs - and thats stretching it. - WRXtranceformed - 07-18-2005 Could be very true, but that wasn't the extent of all he's done. I'll have to ask him next time I see him and get a more accurate quote and his list of stuff ^_^ - .RJ - 07-18-2005 Dropping 350lbs out of any car is a lot of work. You will need to lighten the body work, windows, remove p/s and a/c, sound deadening, etc.... its not like gran tourismo "stage 2 lightening"
- G.Irish - 07-18-2005 Maybe he removed the transmission  Alright Mikey, when is your first autox? - Mike - 07-18-2005 dunno, not too far off for sure. |
