I wonder if there is an interface between VAG-COM and Forscan ?

This is a great joke.

Salesman of course left between when I ordered and now; which explains why I had not heard an update in a bit.

Mayyyybee...just maybe will be getting an early Christmas gift, suggested build date is the week of November 18th.

Your timing seems similar to my Focus ST. Ended up taking delivery on New Years' Day. Hopefully yours comes a little sooner!

Closing out the sales process I can just say that dealers just make a new purchase a hassle.

I called the sales manager the week before the truck was to arrive and he just says "Well it may come in then it may not. I would bet on the week after that or later. Hopefully before Christmas". I have given you 2 calls in 3 months; and I was made to feel like I was hassling them. Each time a promise for follow up but never got one. Since there really wasn't anything I could do/need; I didn't follow up. It just made me feel like I was an unwanted customer.

Fast forward to the day it arrives according to the tracker. I haven't received any call or notice. I call around 12 oclock since I figured it had to be prepped. "Oh yeah ill check.....looks like it's here and will be ready by 2 oclock. Ill give you a call around then so you can pick up tonight." 2PM comes and goes. I am slammed at work so its not a huge deal; but yet another indicator of poor customer service. 3PM I call the dealership. "It's ready come and get it".

Arrive at 4PM with a 4 month old and 2.5 year old. This is a special order; they have all my information including copies of mine and my wife's drivers licenses beforehand. Yet they ask for these again... Wait a couple hours with me continuing to ask that it be expedited due to two small children. I think we leave around 7:30-8PM to sign all of 4-5 papers that could have been easily filled out ahead of time by the sales team. Luckily no financing or undercoating sales pitches. Still, what a waste of time.

Anyways, on to the truck! I took it for a drive while waiting for paperwork and cements that this was a fantastic decision. I was second guessing myself after a couple months determining if it was really worth it. The ride is fantastic, the seats are heaven, the tech is just right (okay maybe Sync is just a tad slow if I am being picky), the pedal feel is great, and the room for the kids in back is more than enough to get them through their growing years.

Eli couldn't contain his excitement.

After a week of ownership; it was worth it. Would I own one in NOVA? eh, it's probably better than my long bed diesel was but its still a big vehicle. But in Mooresville NC where my use case is family stuff, trips to the local state parks and bike trails 5 minutes away, trips to my rentals and house projects, and the closest parking garage is 30 miles away; this thing works. I love it more than any of my sports cars and my wife loves it because of the tech and cameras, and my kids get to come too.

The active shocks are insanity. The Raptor rides really nice but in sport mode stiffens up and has more steering feel and directness than any truck or even SUV; and I would debate many a sports car. At it's price point, you can find far more luxurious and quality craftsmanship if that's what matters to you. If you want fun and usability though (and need a pickup bed), I don't think there is anything that can touch this truck.

How do you like the ecoboost?

A lot of V8 purists give hate, but it's an amazing engine imo. It pulls like a freight train any rpm and keeps going.

Yay! Glad you are loving it so far! My experience with Sync 3 (what you have) is similar to what you mention - generally very good with the occasional stutter. How does Jess feel about occasionally driving this vs. your GMC given all of the cameras? I can't remember if you got the tech package or if it's standard for 2020, so lane keep and adaptive cruise.

To answer Ryan, I think the 3.5 HO is amazing for power and drivability. Between the Raptor I had and being next to a few in traffic, my only complaint is the stock exhaust note being just a bit... off.

+1 on the adaptive shocks. They are really, really good.

2020 802A package basically came with everything.  Check everything on Ford's build website except graphics and beadlocks and that was my build.

Jess hasn't driven it yet; but I did use Active cruise and fucking loved it.  Consider me sold on that tech. I admit to eating my words on that being silly.

I have 60 some odd miles on it so far, so no full throttle shenanigans yet.  I can't wait.  The exhaust note and fake exhaust note actually doesn't bother me.  It's not droney; its just not inspiring.  I have taken it off "road" just a little and this thing shines.  I am ready for some actual time off road.

Nice! The best is when you use adaptive cruise and lane keep and blind spot monitoring all with your trailer hooked up. It works very well.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Adaptive cruise is absolutely awesome for long highway stretches. Does Ford have low speed follow as well? My Accord can follow in traffic to a stop and start moving again with traffic.

You learned your lesson this time - nothing with a dealership is quick even when everything seems to be done. Even the most simple of tasks takes them hours. The first new car we bought was miserable, the second was a bit better, and the third was only a couple hours because I knew exactly what to do.

'Murrica fuck yeah! Big Grin

Did the dealer install the accessory truck nutz for you or leave them in the glove box?

RE: First New Vehicle Purchase and 1/2 Ton Truck Review - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-02-2020

Almost one month in and 330 miles total.

Love driving this thing around. Been really busy with a bunch of house projects and it's a godsend having a truck again. Moved a fridge between rentals, lots of lighting projects, taking the bike out, shipping out wheels, mounting tires, and general home ownership is just far easier with a truck.

I somewhat miss having a longbed truck as I fill up the bed pretty quickly (carrying an 8 foot ladder was out the bed!); so I am figuring out solutions to get more storage. My tonneau cover Retrax makes attachments for "roof rack" accessories that I am debating adding 2x bike racks and a medium sized basket. It means I still have full access to bed as it is above the cover and is easily removed if I am doing something extremely large. Trying to avoid anything off the hitch as ultimately I want the truck in the garage and it's already going to be a "within 5 inches" type deal.

Wife enjoys the massive crew cab for the kids with plenty of inside space; and shockingly have used both the cooled and heated seats during the month of December. She likes driving this thing around (Although she still prefers her SUV) vs hating driving my old diesel. Ford's Apple CarPlay isnt as good as Dodge's Uconnect; my main complaint just being a little slow on start up.

I still grin like a little school girl driving it around and my wheels came in that I can hopefully get mounted up next week. Averaging 13.2 so far, but should get better as it was 11MPG average only 100 miles ago.

Very nice. I love the interior space on mine.

Crazy DJ. Long Bed Diesel in NOVA, Regular Bed V6 Turbo in North Carolina.
