RE: Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - D_Eclipse9916 - 02-13-2018 As my continual hair on fire type of schedule, the car is on the lift sitting. I bought some OEM ZCP/EDC shocks as required for SCCA Street class and went to install them. The guy I bought them from apparently forgot to include a couple bushings. OEM order with Fairfax BMW went in, but will be a couple days. A real shame I can't use these anymore: ![]() Instead I threw on a Dinan Front sway bar that is legal in class. Apex wheels came in but my codriver and I agreed we won't be making the March Match Tour, just too much going on at this time. I am having a hard time deciding what wheels to put on this car for daily driving. The current Volks are black and match the car well, but I just am not a huge black wheel fan. I go back and forth each day on a decision. Forgot to mention, man this thing eats gas with reckless abandon. I wouldn’t say it’s the best daily I’ve had; but the wife is happier and I’ve been able to take the kid on trips.
Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - GTBrandon - 02-13-2018 Ever figure out a weight on this? That was the one big thing keeping me away from an e90. Also, what’s the plan with the Ohlins now? Also, what’s the plan with the Ohlins now? I mean it will be in the 3,600 pound range. Why do you want to know? Edit: The more I see this thread the more I really need this to be my next vehicle. BMW and v8 checks two boxes with one car... Ill try to put in on the scales this weekend if I get time since I want to anyway. Let's just say that in my fleet of vehicles, we don't have a vehicle that averages over 17mpg.
RE: Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - Jake - 02-13-2018 I heard they did about 10-12 in pure city driving. Not surprising for a V8, but... that's what my RR does. RE: Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - SlimKlim - 02-13-2018
RE: Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - JPolen01 - 02-13-2018 I think Trevor told me he used to get like 14-16 on the highway in his e92. The noises are worth it. Single digit yet? Granted the audi is probably a good 600lbs heavier, but I feel your pain. About 20-22 on the highway, but considering my 7300lb diesel truck gets 18-20 on the highway and I can scoot out 22 in our Land Rover "brick-derived inspiration" LR4.... Knowing how much it'll be worth/you will ask I doubt I'll be able to afford yours specifically ![]() Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Project M3: V8 noises and kid seats - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-05-2018 Not much progress to report. Maybe driven it 200 miles in the past few months with all the moving going on. Really hoping after this month to get to drive it more. Ricer mod update, trying to purge boxes I went ahead and installed the ZCP factory splitters and I love the look. ![]()
