for real, hang tight. life finds ways to take up your time, sometimes you just have to deal and let the project take its own course for a while longer.

Man I know the feeling 100%. Where is the car located? If you need some help I'll do what I can.

It's on the other side of the state in Newport News which adds to the frustration. I can't count the number of times I've driven all the way down there just to have work cut short due to a single missing piece or the number of times we've left something to do "later" that just never got done.

Truth be told: if I could get even 3/4 of what I put into it, I'd sell it all in a heartbeat at this point.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-06-2017

Don't talk like that, that's the frustration getting to you. You need to find some garage space up here and I'll haul it up here for ya! Believe me I know what you are talking about with missing this or that and all my parts/cars are HERE!

Re: The Lawn Dart - Deceus - 03-06-2017

Well I do have a garage actually, it's just a small one car. I suppose it wouldn't take much to get the car itself back to a roller either. The parking lot in front my place is usually empty as well so I could just roll it back into one of the spaces when I needed the room. My main concern is the electrical portion. I have no idea what I'm doing with this kit and it's not quite as easy as snapping in a harness. Also the lack of tools would be a problem. I don't even have a torque wrench here let alone a compressor and air tools. That idea is tempting though.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-06-2017

Wiring is my specialty. I'd be happy to help you with that part for sure.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Deceus - 03-06-2017

Sooooooo what are you doing this weekend? (or next)

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-06-2017

Are we hauling the car up? This weekend I'm out of town, maybe next?

Re: The Lawn Dart - Deceus - 03-06-2017

I would like to if you're offering. The weekend after this coming one would likely be perfect. I can (hopefully) get the motor broken in and get the car rolling again this weekend. It'll be a lot easier to recruit the help I need up here than to continue making that 6 hour drive to hit more brickwalls.

I LOVE THIS!!! Go Jeff Go!

Jeff to the rescue! Big Grin

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-06-2017

I have something going on a Saturday 18 also. But we could do it Sunday 19? I'm gonna check with my wife about that plan.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-06-2017

Just FYI my trailer has a winch and such so non running isn't an issue.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Deceus - 03-06-2017

Yeah it won't be running since I still don't have a driveshaft but it'll be less of a hassle all around if I can get the engine in the car before trying to move it. Push comes to shove I can just throw it back on the stand. The 19th would be perfect, I was planning on going to karting on the 18th. Just let me know what you can do.

^ Yeesssss I'm glad someone knew where that was!

Re: The Lawn Dart - Deceus - 03-13-2017

Only got a day on it this past weekend but the radiator is on the stand and the exhaust has been started. Still on the fence on whether I'm going to be able to fire it up next weekend or not. Everything seems to be in place for it but something is bound to hold us up I feel. Just need to rebuild the carb, finish the exhaust when it gets in, wire up the starter and add fluids. Doesn't seem like much but Karting is in the way a bit and I need the car rolling on Sunday if Jeff is going to be there to haul it off.

haha yeah definitely going to be a busy couple days. Have to be in DC tomorrow evening as well. The good news is I have all day Friday to get work done and make the call. Ordered my wheel bearings and some fasteners for the exhaust. If I hit any roadblocks friday I'm just going to throw the engine on a cradle because we'll need the K-member to get it rolling. If all goes well, it'll be ready Friday night and I'll be able to fire it up after karting.

I was thinking about buying the QA1 tubular K-member just to be able to throw it on and get the front end back together but it's 67-72 only which won't work with my spool mounts. Apparently the 67-72 brackets are pretty hard to find. Too late now regardless. Not sure a tubular K-member is worth $700 anyways lol.

Re: The Lawn Dart - Jeff - 03-16-2017

Well my trailer is F'ed up so our trip might be put off a week. Needs all new wheel bearings and one brake unit replaced. Very nice for a 2014 model year trailer.
