I can't believe you "borrowed" a shopping cart. That's some A-level college ingenuity right there.

Also, bruh... this is exactly what I told you to remove and that is the easiest way to pull all the shit apart. Not sure where you thought there was an easier way still... Tongue

It's alright, I got to swoop in and save the day  it was pretty awesome

D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Wooohoo. That was a fiasco but good for you guys getting it done. What kind of exhaust fab do you need? I need more practice with the welder....
So a section of the exhaust needs to be modified to clear the control arm bushing mount. I'm guessing I won't really know how exactly until i get under the car, unfortunately.

I think that's supposed to be after welding. I read BJ's thread couple weeks ago and I don't think his was changed so maybe it will fit? I'm not sure. It's still pretty close in that picture. I was thinking about running a single 3inch pipe but that was just because I thought the M3 pipes wouldn't fit. It looks like the rest will be able to fit, its just this section here that comes really close to the control arm. So I'll definitely be keeping the M3 exhaust for simplicity. I also need to do this -

"The O2 sensor mounting port interferes with the frame reinforcement behind the transmission mount. You can cut a chunk out of the brace to make the O2 sensor fit and reinforce the brace by welding it to the transmission mount with a couple of pipes"

Re: Project: R3D3MPTION? - *insertusernamehere* - 11-16-2015

I was able to snag a driveshaft and dipstick at the junkyard with Joey and Jake over the weekend. Couldn't get the oil pan off the E34 cause the subframe was stuck. It literally would not come off not even after being hit with a hammer. Also need a diff. They had an e28 there but it was a 528e and an automatic. I don't want that. Nor did i really want touch that diff. It was so rusted to shit I couldn't see the shape of the bolts. I may give it a go on another e34 if i find one but I may end up just trying to buy the diff and oil pan from someone who already has them pulled. Waiting on a guy, Jake, out here to respond to let me know if he's still got the brake booster I need. If not, I'll have to go find one and mod it as necessary. Hopefully he still has it because its already had the necessary mods done to it. More progress

Re: Project: R3D3MPTION? - 95SVTCobra - 11-16-2015

Are you heading back to the RVA for break? If so, or even if not, try here: http://www.chesterfieldauto.com/. I've found some good parts there, and it says they have some in the yard. My buddy and I go there all the time if you want to tag along over break.

Re: Project: R3D3MPTION? - ispoonwithmugen - 11-16-2015

Just checking.... I thought you bought Jake's roomies car and were putting it in that instead. I saw all the talk about E34 and E28's in the junkyard post

Re: Project: R3D3MPTION? - *insertusernamehere* - 11-16-2015

Ooohhhh makes sense. But yeah the e30 s50 swap uses the throttle cable, oil pan and dipstick from the e34 m50. The diff from an e28, I need to double check which diff specifically. The driveshaft from an ob2 e36. E21 brake booster with some modifications. Engine mounts from an e28 and I don't remember off the top of my head right now what to do for the trans mounts.

I'll unravel it all the closer I get.

Re: Project: R3D3MPTION? - Sully - 11-16-2015

So how much of the original car is left? I haven't really been following how many parts you need other than the engine but do you have a rolling caged shell?

I need to take everything else off the car then send it off to scrap this week. Which reminds me i need to post stuff up for sale so i can have it gone as soon as its off the car, but i'm currently studying for a test and then I have a lab to do tomorrow night and then I have fucking work and I need to see if Christina still wants these wheels or nah so i can clear up space for more parts in case they don't sell soon and i need to store them and i gotta help Marshal do his shifter bushings on his e28 then start on the e30 next week work on some final projects over break which is also next week get the valve seals done on the mazda dnjdfq qewipntugnrew

Oh lovely, they have 3 e34's, and an e21. Need to make my way down there. One of the e34's was just dropped off last week too.

Matt, shoot me a text (5409033466) whenever you have some free time. I think I need some bolts off of the trunk if you're cool with that. Might need some other misc stuff as well.
