Yeah, I've been talking to Ray. They're making the schedule now and they have known we are doing the 2nd. If they can't do an auto-cross on the 3rd, we won't be rescheduling.

To be fair, then we would be riding them for why they haven't chosen a weekend yet. I think the scenario they chose is the best case, rather have it planned early IMO.

I'm with them DJ. I think the kids did a good job. I like having advanced notice and while the autox is nice, we only just did that last year as a first time. Not like its been that way for year and years. Don't be a dick.

I'm in, probably just going to bring the convertible because it's way more fun on a cruise than a truck.
It sucks at autocross though, so if the dates align I'll probably start begging for a co-drive.

Before you all go cramming down my throats, I hear different things from Ray Schumin. In the past the officers have claimed to contact him/work with him. When I talk with Ray in person, he tells me he never got contacted at all. Forgive my annoyance when I am lied to.
Not saying this is the case this time but when I read "Yeah, I've been talking to Ray. They're making the schedule now and they have known we are doing the 2nd. If they can't do an auto-cross on the 3rd, we won't be rescheduling." "they have known we are doing the 2nd" when we JUST announced that date?
I apologize if you did try to work with him, past experience talking with Ray shows he tried to move mountains to make sure schedules aligned. I hate when we burn our contacts.

I understand your concerns. Just please remember that the officers this year are not the ones in the past. This is the only date that works for us, and we have been juggling dates to fit the ones Ray wanted to do. Also, please remember that this is just about the earliest that I've even seen car show planning and we already have the date set. I can show you the e-mails with Ray if you want.
Don't think that we haven't gotten it worked out with Ray. It's not over yet and he's not done. This is January. Most of the time, nobody would have even contacted him yet. Instead, he knows when we are doing it and has time to move stuff around. I do appreciate the concern, DJ.
Ray has just e-mailed me a said
"I'm 95% it is going to be OK. We have discussed it, and the board agreed. Let me double check with the solo chair to make sure he secured the date "
