Yes, I happened to have an interested coworker who took me up on my offer for $1200. Unfortunatly (for him) he found out this weekend it's not just the head, piston #1's face looks like the surface of the moon and now has a hole in it. I guess that occasional pinging I was hearing was worse than I thought.

negative. If I wanted to do the work, I would have done it! He's finding whole motors for $950 and will do the work himself, so I think he'll come out ok.

no, actually it was the cleanest it ever has been, tires and all, my camera just sucks. He even polished the headlights, they looked like new.

Coworker ended up with too many cars and is considering selling the E, now with ~100K replacement engine, new clutch. I guess he did a good job on it, he's been driving it to work ever since. I know it still needs shocks, though they aren't terrible. He'd probably be asking close to $4K. Hit me up if you need one.
