After all that, I'm literally sorry I even brought it up.

DSMTuners did it a couple years in a row, and I liked them. (Justin and I were in them).

Just because a car isnt a "$250k car with mods" doesnt mean it isnt calendar worthy. The Calendar would be for us, and I think is a great idea. Would love to have one in my office (sans girls).

Surprisingly it is always March 2008...I think....whenever my car was on that calendar the month has not changed.

Oh and I volunteer the fozzy for whatever month father's day is....car seat and all.

Re: MM Car calender - Senor_Taylor - 02-17-2014

I can't tell whether this would be fruitless or not, honestly, haha.

Re: MM Car calender - Samantha - 02-17-2014

I say delete the thread and we pretend it never happened.

Re: MM Car calender - CaptainHenreh - 02-17-2014

You guys are being way sensitive. A 12 month calendar from Cafepress is a mere 20 dollars. Get some good shots, put it together, and I'm sure there's a ton of people who would get one just to have it.

Just don't expect to make any real money doing it. Do it because it's fun, not as a recruitment, fundraising, or PR tool.

Welcome to MM. We're nothing but a gigantic, weird, dysfunctional family. Bickering, sarcasm and brutal honestly is part of the package, but doesn't change that we're all family. Besides, you guys haven't seen the alumni get really grumpy recently. This thread is nothing.

Like Rexy said this club has been going for a loooong time. I remember going through this same exact thing a few years ago, bickering with alumni because we wanted to try something they had already tried, because we thought we could make it work. I think it's a good exercise to rehash old ideas, because someone will make them work eventually, but you have to be willing to engage in the tough conversations.

Don't underestimate the alumni, there are a lot of smart cookies out there with a lot of real world business experience, and that's really what MM is, a small non-profit business that gets new management every 4 years.

Anywhoodles, I'm down for an in-club calendar, I even have a pretty photo all ready to go:

Re: MM Car calender - Senor_Taylor - 02-17-2014

Yeah, I guess I'll work on gathering the photos from everyone that wants to get in the calender. If that's okay with everyone?

Does anyone know what font the MM logo is?

Re: MM Car calender - SlimKlim - 02-17-2014

You'll wanna decide who is going to print them (artscow, cafepress, shutterfly) before you start collecting them, so you can give people the minimum size and resolution specs for the photos.

I'd also recommend making sure the place you choose has a way to create the calendar and then share a link so people can order their own. Trying to do a bulk order and managing payment will be a huge burden on you.

I think for print you want to make sure the photos are in the CMYK color profile, not RGB, if you don't have Photoshop you can dropbox the photos to me and I can make adjustments.

Someone ought to have a file with the MM logo on it.

Air Millhouse Italic. I probably have it somewhere. Remind me and I'll look later.

Yeah, I might not be the best qualified to do this, haha. I appreciate the help.

I DID have the MM logo in a transparent PNG that I made, but I lost it when my HDD broke. I was using it because I wanted to make some shirts that sad "JMU Car club" with the MM logo on it. Those were lost too :/

I do have some MM wallpapers I made that I can add "2013-2014 calender" to for the cover or something. If someone has the original logo, I'd love to have it.

Re: MM Car calender - CaptainHenreh - 02-17-2014

I have a bunch of MM logo vector files, as well as (of course) the MM-ZRT logo if any of the offroaders wanna use it.

Could you send them my way?

No problemo, I did a '14 Calendar for an E36 forum a few months ago and it was a pretty fun project.

I usually have FB chat hooked into my IM client at work, feel free to message me if you want help with anything or just need me to churn through some photoshop tasks.

Re: MM Car calender - Jake - 02-17-2014

Please make sure to spell Calendar with an A at the end Smile

I don't mind helping with graphics work as well, let me know!

Re: MM Car calender - WRXtranceformed - 02-17-2014

I could try to clean up my car and take a cool shot if you all are seriously putting a calendar together. There definitely needs to be some Brit love represented

Re: MM Car calender - Senor_Taylor - 02-17-2014

Are you kidding? I spelled it with an "a" in EVERY post, then when I make the image, I spell it wrong. What's wrong with me? I need an intervention.

Definitely, man!

I think all of us MM offroaders such also go play in the mud and get some flexin' on for a pic. We'll hide my stock height failure in the back.
