Cosmetics aren't going to overcome a $40k price gap. Someone in the market for an $80k M3 is going to cross shop C63s, Cayman Ss, S4s, etc, not American mullet mobiles. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Jake - 12-13-2013 Can we all agree that Phoenix Yellow is a horrid color and BMW should never bring it back, let alone use it in press photos? Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 12-13-2013 I noticed that it looks like the new mustang doesn't have brembos in the back, again. On the old model they couldn't because of it having a live rear axle, but now they have no excuse. For some reason, it really annoys me not to have matching brakes. Re: Automotive News Discussion - *insertusernamehere* - 12-13-2013 SlimKlim Wrote:Cosmetics aren't going to overcome a $40k price gap. Oh yeah...money is a thing. Whoops  Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 12-13-2013 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Yeah BMW has been going backwards on steering feel with the most recent cars from what I hear. I haven't driven any of the current gen bimmers though (not in the market) so I can't really say for myself.G.Irish Wrote:D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:I give a big "meh" to the new bmw M3/M4. They are "AMG"ing all of their product line. They can keep it.How so? What does AMGing it mean? As for the increasing luxo electro fuckwaddery, BMW's been going down that road for a long time, at least since the E36 days. Luxury customers always want the car to do more stuff for them and every luxury car maker obliges. At least the 3 series and M3 got lighter for a change. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Beej - 12-13-2013 I'm thrilled enough that it's down in weight! At the moment, I can't look past the square type things in the lower corners of the rear bumpers housing the reflectors. Other than that...looks good but not great - though I bet it has a lot of presence in person and will be totally different. Re: Automotive News Discussion - premiershine9 - 12-17-2013 200+ in a C7, lovely http://www.carscoops.com/2013/12/hennes ... ay-c7.html Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 12-19-2013 Aston Martin and Daimler ink the deal to supply AMG motors and more to Aston. Could see AMG products in Astons in 2-3 years. http://blog.caranddriver.com/done-deal- ... +Driver%29 Re: Automotive News Discussion - G.Irish - 12-20-2013 Huracan 610-4 ![]() http://www.autoblog.com/2013/12/20/lamb ... al-photos/ Looks good, but looks a bit slab-sided to me, not sure if I'm going to like this one in person. Right now I can't say I like it more than the Gallardo. Re: Automotive News Discussion - Evan - 12-20-2013 Rock me like a Huracan Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 12-20-2013 I like it way better than the gallardo. The gallardo was always a bit plain for me, speaking relatively to lamborghinis of course. Lambos are supposed to be a little crazy visually. Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 12-20-2013 People are whining that the new one isn't ugly enough to be a real lambo, but I love it. I was never a fan of the gallardo and would've taken the R8 over it all day everyday, but this, mmmmm, this I can fap to. Re: Automotive News Discussion - JPolen01 - 12-20-2013 It's a baby aventador, what's not to love? Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 12-20-2013 I've either seen bitching that it looks too much like the Aventador or that it's too smooth and curvy and looks like a Ferrari. I think they're all blind if they don't think that's like the sexiest shit ever. Hey, if I had to have an auto, CVT is pretty cool. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE You can put it in a sport mode that makes it act like an 8-spd and it shifts super fast! The guy is all excited. ? I bet that's slower than the regular CVT mode. Why would a buyer of an automatic car want it to pretend like it's shifting, something the buyer clearly doesn't care about. :dunno: Let the CVT be awesome and keep the engine boiling in sport mode, but don't "shift". :vomit: Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 12-27-2013 BLINGMW Wrote:Why would a buyer of an automatic car want it to pretend like it's shifting, something the buyer clearly doesn't care about. I like my pretend shifting. But yeah, I agree. I still don't understand the appeal of the CVT, I get the whole holding it in the sweet spot thing but it doesn't seem like it would be nearly as satisfying, I also don't like the lack of subaru warble. It does seem like a really nice car to drive and a big performance improvement on the last generation. I don't want one, but it seems nice.
