Re: Brand Loyalty - BFisch06 - 05-12-2013

Grew up almost 100% GM (hence my quickly-achieved goal of working for them), and even though they canceled my program with their 2009 bankruptcy, I still love the General's newer offerings. I know my love for GM isn't "celebrated" by many MM'ers, but at least no can say I'm not loyal!

1 x Oldsmobile (2000 Intrigue - first car; sold for the HHR SS)
1 x Chevrolet (2008 HHR SS - first manual)
1 x Saturn (2008 Sky Redline - first convertible)

Re: Brand Loyalty - Jeff - 05-20-2013

Actually owned/titled to me not demos, as you guys know I am pretty loyal.

Dodge - 8 (71 Challenger, 88 Daytona Shelby, 89 Daytona Shelby, 88 Omni, 89 Omni, 90 Caravan SE Turbo, 97 Ram 2500, 07 Ram 2500 CTD)
Chrysler - 2 (91 Lebaron Convertible, 96 Sebring JXI Convertible)
Plymouth - 1 (92 Acclaim)
Jeep - 1 (97 XJ)

Re: Brand Loyalty - Mike - 05-20-2013

Oldsmobile x 1 - 1st car, was a hand-me-down
Honda x 4 - 91 Accord, 93 Civic (now Justin's), 01 S2000, 97 VFR - I love 90s Honda, but I've outgrown those cars.
VW x 1 - 10 GTI

So I was clearly a Honda guy and now I'd say I'll likely be with VAG for a bit... Just love the way they drive, and the fit & finish. If it weren't for reliability, I'd be gaga. Next car will be likely be a German wagon. Only car I need to own someday is a 911.

Re: Brand Loyalty - Levey - 05-20-2013

Chevrolet: 4 (72 Camaro, 03 S-10 ZR2, 01 Blazer, 02 Camaro)
Mazda: 1 (04 RX8)
Kawasaki: 2 (95 ZX6r, 07 ZX6r)
Suzuki: 1 (06 GSXR 600)

Chevrolet numbers will most likely keep growing.

Re: Brand Loyalty - BLINGMW - 05-25-2013

I, for one, would like to see some closure on this thread. Statistics? Conclusions?
Is it really brand loyalty or could there be other explanations? Maybe tool compatibility, country of origin, drive wheels, price, used vs new, are more significant indicators of behavior?
Is buying 2 cars not an indicator of a 3rd but 3 means you are 75% more likely to buy a 4th? We need to monetize this data.
This reminds me I have another thread to unearth...

It was actually a really fun car. I owned it for about 3.5 years. Absolutely no torque, but once the rotary started humming at ~4k rpm, the car came alive. It handled incredibly well. Bose stereo was great, and the interior was ahead of its time as far as looks go. The rear suicide doors were kind of cool too. The car did about the same in fuel economy as my LS1 which is ridiculous. The engines were known to fail in the 04, so I got rid of mine with about 80k on the clock. I'd give it a positive review.

I have to ask: was it the SAME Chevy Pickup?

Re: Brand Loyalty - RawrImAMonster - 06-26-2013

Pontiac 3: 96 Firebird, 95 Firebird Formula, 02 Trans Am WS6
Mitsubishi 2: 98 Eclipse GSX, 06 Evolution IX

I don't really care about being loyal to a brand, it just so happens I've liked these particular cars enough to own them.

Re: Brand Loyalty - Cody - 06-26-2013

Quote:I have to ask: was it the SAME Chevy Pickup?

The last two generations of Chevy pickups. The Volvo basically totalled the one that hit it back, so I don't plan to see that one on the road again. The ford had some nice steel built into it so it did a number to the Chevy's plastic crumble sections but it may have been brought back to life.

Re: Brand Loyalty - rherold9 - 01-19-2016

What a beautiful family you have

And I came from a Jaguar (dad's side), and Mercedes family (mom's side)

Updated and want another bmw
