Re: Overboost Issues - HAULN-SS - 11-30-2012 Just noticed this is the first thread in a long time where the person actually had a case of boost rot. That is all. Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 11-30-2012 Got a feeling this could be it, i will take a look later. Thanks again guys, and for not harrassing me about my noob-ness. Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 11-30-2012 Well, fuck me, that wasn't it. Any other suggestions? Any other places where a leak could be, or is it just that shitty of a tune? Re: Overboost Issues - JustinG - 11-30-2012 Does that thing have a legit boost/vac gauge? Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 11-30-2012 Meaning the Cobb? I assume it's accurate, haven't really heard anyone say otherwise. Re: Overboost Issues - JustinG - 11-30-2012 No....does the car? Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 12-01-2012 To view boost? There's nothing, I rely on the Cobb. Just hit over boost on that tune, changed to the "stock" tune and hit almost 27. Going to uninstall the the Cobb and see if I can still log. Hopefully it stays within a normal range, if not I guess I will just take it in since its still under warranty. Re: Overboost Issues - JustinG - 12-01-2012 Do an idle log for a few seconds once the car is at operating temperature. I lookef at your other log and it seemed like the idle vac may have been a little high. -7 where most say it should be -9 to -11. Makes me think you have a vac leak somewhere. Get yourself a mechanical vacuum gauge. Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 12-01-2012 You are correct sir, at warm temps it is idling at -8.2ish with the occasional dip to the 7's. I uninstalled the Cobb, i'm probably just going to bring it in to get serviced. unfortunately once the Cobb is uninstalled i can't run logs or view live data, however i can't see why there'd be any reason why anything would change with that at idle, correct? Either way, i am probably just going to bring it in, i figure if it's under warranty i'll let them do the work. Is there any real imminent danger to the car now? I don't normally go full throttle, at all, so should i be okay if i avoid that? Say you pulled the battery to reset the ECU in an attempt to resolve this weird check engine light you got this winter. Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 12-03-2012 Yeah I figured that, as with any warranty issue, i will just go with the, " i don't know, just started doing that". :dunno: Re: Overboost Issues - Ken - 12-11-2012 Well, no luck. They weren't able to find anything wrong. Guess it may have just been the tune and the overboost became a real issue once it got colder? I will probably just have a pro-tune done and loaded on the AP. |
