I will, because I am totally a nice guy, take delivery for you.

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - HAULN-SS - 12-18-2012

Turns out they have one of these sitting in the show room in Charles Town. That color isn't as loud in person as I thouhgt it might be.

Project 'Me BooSTa' - Jake - 01-05-2013

I got a call on Thursday from Jon at Koons, saying the car was in transit to the dealership from their holding location in Jessup, MD. We arranged financing and decided that we would meet on Friday at 5:30 to Make This Happen. My fellow yellow-car-owning roommate was kind enough to let me ride in to work with him on Friday morning, and my parents picked me up from work and took me to Koons. They stuck around to take photos and provide some moral support.

Fun fact: my dad bought a 1994 Taurus LX in Champagne from this same dealership, almost 20 years ago exactly.

We were early, so dad checked out a Fusion (and liked it a lot) until Jon was ready for us. The finance guy (Earl) took us back to his office and was great. Quickly realized I was a car guy and didn't bother pushing any of the extraneous options on me for warranties and roadside help and such. I get roadside help from Geico as it is, and I have no interest in anything else they offered.

Signed everything, shook hands with Jon and he gave me the not-keys. I say not-keys, because it's keyless, just has the little proximity fobs. I was a little excited:

Drove it off the lot with a full tank of gas and 6 miles on the odometer. Got it home and this morning, Joey helped me put sealant on the paint to keep it looking good. I'm incredibly happy with this car and excited to get it past the 500 mile break-in period and really womp on it. Looking forward to February VIR, too.

More pictures!

The gas door is located on the right side of the car, under the tail light. Pretty slick integration, IMO.

I'm getting custom plates soon, but for now I'm rocking the ones that Koons gave me. I requested they not install the front plate bracket, because it goes right in the middle of the large-mouth-bass grill and looks awful. This is my solution for now. The custom plate will go in the same place but be bent in a straight line:

I love this interior.

Already have 70-something miles on it, and I think I really will enjoy it for a long while. Of course, everyone is invited for rides and such...

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - Goodspeed - 01-05-2013

Sweeeeeet! I'm sure that car will be a blast. I say to hell with the man, I'd rock it plateless - I really like the look of that front grille. I'll have to finally make it over to y'alls place and take a peek

That is AWESOME Jake!!! I agree with you on the fuel door, that really is clean. I love the look of the hatch!

the interior looks great, although, i almost feel like you need an engineering degree to use all those buttons Confusedhock:

Yes, please do something like this - just having the plate rattle around is going to destroy the pain on that horizontal body panel won't it??

Si senior.

If you're mounting it in contact with paint, let me know and I'll get you some adhesive-backed foam cushioning from work to put on the plate to help protect the paint.

That would be much appreciated. I put some Velcro (the fuzzy side) on this plate and I think that'll work for the short term. But some Toyota-approved foam would be even better!

Is that fairlakes? by the Dick's sporting goods?

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - ViPER1313 - 01-06-2013

How do you like the MyFordTouch so far? I opted against it in the Mustang (just figured I didn't need it) but it does look pretty cool

Yep, they do C&C there every Sunday around 8:30. This was my first time going, but Joey's been a few times. He can probably chime in as far as the "typical crowd."

So far, I think it's pretty neat. I didn't really care to have it, but I wanted the Recaro seats, which automatically bumps you into the ST2 trim and thus, MFT. It does work well, I usually leave it on the audio screen so I can see what's playing in big font.

I didn't pay for navigation, but I get three years of Sync Services for free. So, I can go on Mapquest on my computer, or call SS through the car (and my iPhone)... ask for directions, and have them sent to the car through my phone. MFT will then display street names and arrows for turn-by-turn (and speak, too). So, I saved $800 and still kinda-sorta get navi. Just don't have live maps that will be outdated next year.

The only quirk I've discovered with MFT so far is that the climate screen will tell me the A/C is turned on, when in fact it is not (it's not, because the actual climate control buttons/screen below MFT say it's Off). Whatever. I don't use the climate screen anyway because I think it's silly.

The Sony 10-speaker audio is pretty damn good, too.

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-07-2013

Congratulations, if you get the time, please stop by this week; id love to see the thing! Id agree on the gas door integration, pretty slick. I say rock no front plate, but I have also gotten like 3 no license plate tickets since I was 16 haha. Looks fun!

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - Ken - 01-07-2013

Congrats! Looks awesome! I'm sure if you look around they may have something like a side mount for the license plate that i have for mine.

Re: Project 'Me BooSTa' - premiershine9 - 01-08-2013
