Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 07-15-2009

i kind of realized that after putting it all back together, but didn't want to admit stupidity or get back under the car... sigh... alright, i'll fix it Tongue i know it only takes 5 minutes, but i don't wanna get dirty.

Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-15-2009

Dont want to hurt yourself either...

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 07-15-2009

Oh it hurts! It hurts! I do hope I was the butt of all jokes, you fat fucks.

Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-15-2009

So bitter Wink

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 07-15-2009

you wanted it.

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 07-17-2009

apparently i put it together correctly the first time Confusedhrug:

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 08-01-2009

Done today or recently
----
Buy Function 7 LCAs
Install new LCAs
Reinstall hatch glass piston
Install fluidyne full length radiator (requires mount fabrication)
Wash
Wax
Replace RR caliper
Replaced 1 rear shock mount w/ stocker (f'ing dealing with people online... i needed four! he sent 2, but 1 was missing the bushing)... All four are functioning now at least.

To do
-----
Locate and buy endlink spacers
Replace Skunk2 UCA bolts (M6x1.0 socket cap)
Remount little HID control box
Get track tires mounted
Clean rear hatch area
Sand rear hatch area
Truck bed liner rear hatch area
Replace valve cover gasket
Install header
Get b-pipe replaced with proper sized tubing
Install civic VX rear "splitter"
Install stock belt mount for passenger side (for street use)
Replace blue glovebox w/ black
Vacuum interior
Cruise for hoes

Fuckin' car has no required maintenance aside from making it street legal (put stock steering wheel and spoiler back on) for the inspection that was dune in July. Knock on my wood.

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

Sooo that stock shock mount I used apparently isn't compatible with my coilovers; they're not long enough... So I'm getting next to no travel out of the shock. Ordered three replacement mounts from the assholes at Buddy Club so that should solve my suspension noises.

I also came to the realization that I have no real desire to track anymore. I'm going to drop my spring rate significantly (from 800f/700r to 450f/350r or lower), pull the rollbar, pull the seats, and return the car as close to comfy and stockish as I can since it really isn't worth getting rid of.

First up is to locate some seats... Del Sols w/ a gray stripe like I used to have. Sporty, comfy, cheap. Once I have those, rollbar and seats come out with the quickness.
Then I may think of actually putting the rear interior back in, but I'm unsure on that... Might just dynamat and do some custom carpet work.

On the maintenance front, the car needs a new wheel bearing on the corner that had the dragging brake for a year or so. Must've heated up pretty good. Makes a nice noise on the highway. Luckily, rears are cake on these cars. The hardest part is getting someone to press in the new lugstuds.

Re: Project Hatch - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-09-2009

Thats a shame, but I can understand. Happens. What seats did you have in this car?

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

It is a shame, but the car will still be plenty sporty when I'm done "streeting it." I haven't been on track in two years so there's really no point in leaving it a track car. It just sits more because I hate driving it anywhere... And things break when it sits... And then I hate it more... It's just bad for our relationship.

It's got 2 Evos.

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

Ahhhh vultures! The evos will be for sale once I find suitable replacements. I'll post them here first.

Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 10-09-2009

You can swap the studs with a vice and some appropriate impact sockets. Or an impact wrench, a spacer and some spare lugnuts to 'draw' the stud into the hub.

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

i was thinking how i'd use my vice, but yeah, couldn't figure out the part where i can't squish the stud... sockets will do.

in the past i've just thrown the hub on, hammered the studs in, and threw on the lugnuts... never had a problem.

Re: Project Hatch - D_Eclipse9916 - 10-09-2009

Yes, im circling your partout already....I want the evos Tongue

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

So I hop on ebay to search for some seats... what do ya know? I'm 95% certain these are my old ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Del-sol-seats_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a538e546aQQitemZ250509939818QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Re: Project Hatch - ScottyB - 10-09-2009

pshhh, you're just trying to honorably bow out of the SHO vs. Hatch track battle, i know it.

sorry to see it won't be tracked, i thought it was pretty darn quick. but, as long as you're still having fun with it, that's all that matters. will a serious alarm system be on the list since it will become a street car again? or more of a "weekend" car?

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

the only things i'm taking out are safety and a few hundred lbs of spring Tongue it'll still smoke the shit out of a sho.

it already has a pretty good security system... was the first thing i bought for it.

Re: Project Hatch - Maengelito - 10-09-2009

add me to the fray in wanting the Evos.

Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 10-09-2009

oh man, i'm gonna get so much loot for them!

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 10-09-2009

so what kinda security system do you have? Where do you normally park your car? and what hours are you and your neighbors generally home?

Im just curious, no particular reason why im asking......
