Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 10-01-2012 Saw Avicii in the Baltimore inner harbor two Friday nights ago. Beautiful venue, definitely one of the sickest shows I have ever been to. Didn't get many great pics but my friends did. Here is one I took of the inner harbor when we were walking to Dicks to pregame: The venue is that series of tents in the background. It's called Pier 6 and is basically completely surrounded by water. Maybe 3000 seats with a small lawn. So awesome. ![]() ![]() Zedd was spinning at an afterparty up the street which was equally if not more epic than Avicii...but Avicii kept it real high energy which is fun. What is with kids wearing NBA jerseys to DJ sets? Is that like the cool thing now? We all used to wear like adidas polos back in the day. I just found this video on YT of that night. He spun Seek Bromance which apparently he hardly ever does anymore....and everyone went crazy as you can see toward the end of the video!! We weren't that close, we were in the middle off to his left. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA1NWpQOvcg Trance lovers: Listen now! - JPolen01 - 10-01-2012 Pier 6 is legit. Free shows are to be had if you have a boat. Unfortunately I do not have a boat. Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 10-01-2012 We were saying the same thing. If you had a boat that harbor would be the most legit place to put in for a show. You could literally pregame on your boat or at one of the pier bars then park it right next to the venue. Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - ScottyB - 10-01-2012 damn thats awesome....great venue and artist. i haven't heard that track in forever either, thanks for bringing that up...listening to it now 8) Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 10-01-2012 ScottyB Wrote:damn thats awesome....great venue and artist. i haven't heard that track in forever either, thanks for bringing that up...listening to it now 8)Heck yeah!! Still one of my favorite songs of his. Fade Into Darkness was my other favorite track of the night, he KILLED it. I had that song stuck in my head for 3 days after the set. This video ends a few seconds after he drops the beat, but when he did you can tell everyone just went crazy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ttsge8Cyy_A Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - caa337 - 10-01-2012 So jealous!^^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2alTelihkQ Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - HAULN-SS - 10-01-2012 Lol - I guess I don't get it. I didn't know people went to see stuff like this live. When you say he killed it, does that mean 5 years ago when he recorded the song (or whenever)? Isn't it just playing it back when you see it at a show like that? Not like he's remixing it live, right? educate me Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - Apoc - 10-01-2012 HAULN-SS Wrote:Not like he's remixing it live, right? Incorrect. I heard Armin Van Buuren live last year and it was probably the best trance/electronic I've heard. Ever. ....and I generally dislike crowds and the people that frequent these sort of things. Like Lee.

Not like he's remixing it live, right? educate meContrary to popular belief, being a good DJ is actually really hard....even today in the age of Abletons and MacBooks. Spinning with vinyl turntables is kind of becoming a lost art, but when I saw Paul Van Dyk he was mixing with 3 separate laptops, a couple of mixers and probably 6 controllers. Good DJs know how to read a crowd and mix / manipulate sounds / beats / songs to keep the energy rising and falling. Tim Berg (Avicii) is only 21 and has been professionally DJing since he was 18....and he has accomplished more in a year and a half than a lot of musicians / artists have in their lifetimes. Did you really not know people went to see DJs live? haha It's pretty incredible how much those guys make and it's only going to be more and more as dance music continues to grow in the US. I think D. Guetta makes like $150K per set minimum. I remember when people used to say you would never ever heard dance / EDM on the radio...now almost every popular hip hop artist has house beats / melodies in their songs. Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - HAULN-SS - 10-01-2012 I don't know. Do you dance? maybe that's what's missing. Don't get me wrong I put on dubstep and drum and bass sometimes when I'm at working writing code, but I can't imagine myself seeing it live, getting raver stank on me and paying for it Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 10-02-2012 I wouldn't say I dance, but there is a lot of jumping up and down because there are so many people there. It's no different than getting dirty hippie stank on you at a Bluegrass festival or redneck stank on you at a NASCAR race. Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - caa337 - 10-24-2012 Cannot wait to go to this! http://www.clubglow.com/dc-concerts-2/f ... echostage/ Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - caa337 - 10-25-2012 http://soundcloud.com/thebloodybeetroot ... feat-greta Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - Evan - 10-25-2012 been listening to this lately. its a little club-y but very listenable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmKSV8KjTs4 Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 11-01-2012 Sad the SHM is breaking up, but they have all been killing it solo too. Awesome video of one of their last live performances. Holy crap that is a lot of people!! How fun would that be to be a DJ in front of that kind of crowd. Talk about a great day at the office: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y6smkh6c-0 Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - caa337 - 11-14-2012 Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz were amazing on Saturday. The 7 hour set went by way too fast. One of the songs they played that I loved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rQXEQmctP8 Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - WRXtranceformed - 11-27-2012 Calvin Harris - Sweet Nothing Zedd - Spectrum Not new but been stuck in my head since seeing him in Baltimore after the Avicii show Empire of the Sun - Walking On A Dream (Kaskade Remix) Armin Van Buuren - Youtopia Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - CaptainHenreh - 11-27-2012 Derecola will like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oehXqEoAIbM Re: Trance lovers: Listen now! - Apoc - 11-27-2012 I lol'd @ 1:08.
