Re: Project RS - Ryan T - 09-15-2013 Looks like a total blast Scotty! I'd love to do one of those. Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-15-2013 do it man! it doesn't even have to be your car. find a local racing organization and talk to the members about a co-drive. then you don't even have to worry about risking your daily/nice car out there. Don't listen to him, do it in the C5 with the t-tops out, don't be a pussy. Re: Project RS - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-16-2013 Looks like a frigging blast! And congrats on the 1st place finish, sounds like you are killing it. Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-16-2013 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Looks like a frigging blast! And congrats on the 1st place finish, sounds like you are killing it. we'll see, 2 fast regulars in street tire were absent. my left foot braking is haggard. but its encouraging and just makes me want to get out and go faster. Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-18-2013 video of the course from another car (corolla/AE86). was about 90 seconds in the morning, 80 in the afternoon due to some changes. we got about 8 runs total and i could have gone nuts with fun runs at the end of the day but had to split. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMLG9jHlp7U just so people are aware....this thing had stretched street tires, coilovers and about 2 inches of ground clearance. utterly unsuited to the task....but still had a great time and drove the wheels off of it. Re: Project RS - JPolen01 - 09-18-2013 That looks like so much fun. Re: Project RS - BLINGMW - 09-18-2013 where's your race-winning video? Does MM need to chip in and buy you a go-pro so we can see how it is done? Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-18-2013 BLINGMW Wrote:Does MM need to chip in and buy you a go-pro so we can see how it is done? yes. yes it does i promise to get really sideways and do victory donuts if it happens.
Re: Project RS - JustinG - 09-19-2013 you can easily justify a gopro as a baby cost. "But sweetheart, I want to video *Insert name here* in the *pool, ocean, snow, etc*, don't you want to remember those times?" Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-20-2013 JustinG Wrote:you can easily justify a gopro as a baby cost. "But sweetheart, I want to video *Insert name here* in the *pool, ocean, snow, etc*, don't you want to remember those times?" oh don't worry i'm working that angle like a boss, my friend. in all seriousness though, its probably something i'll just wait on until there's a holiday deal or something because i'm gonna want a couple different mounts for car stuff and mountain biking. is hero3 the way to go these days? or is a used hero2 still a good buy? Re: Project RS - JustinG - 09-20-2013 Id go 3, better lens, wifi built in. I want to upgrade to a 3 black edition. But I have other purchases to make, like a ps4 and a new tv. Re: Project RS - xvxax - 09-20-2013 The metering is better for direct sunlight, and the microphone is so much better. The microphone alone is worth the extra dough for action sports. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... jbJzMo9yts - 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfknaM8z ... e=youtu.be - 2 Re: Project RS - navin - 09-20-2013 +1 on external mic -- I'm using a cheap Sony I found on Amazon prime. It's taped to the back of my Sparco driver-side seat in this video: https://vimeo.com/72777371 EDIT: Hero2 being used with spot metering on. I went Hero2 because I'm cheap and didn't want to pay the extra money for the mic adapter when you use the Hero3. Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 09-20-2013 awesome, thanks guys. i absolutely hate in-car videos that start off with great sound and then once out of first gear just turns to WHARRGARRBLSLHLKSJ for the remainder of the run. i originally thought i'd run an external mike through the trunk and tape to the back bumper for some good exhaust sound, but if the internal mike is that good, then F it. i'd rarely be doing something where I go over 60mph anyway. i'm not a fancy guy but the wifi sounds pretty badass. looks like my dashcam and gopro fund is maxed out for the year  Re: Project RS - JPolen01 - 09-20-2013 Don't forget about that dash cam go pro link I dropped on your fb a whole back! Two for one! Re: Project RS - ScottyB - 10-06-2013 just checked the signup roster for the next rallyx. 2 STi's in my class already. oof. i need 2 of the big ones, by tonight.... |
