- Mike - 02-27-2009 so the guy says the fasteners aren't on his end and i am 100% sure they didn't ship. he gave me a good deal on everything, but am i wrong to ask for him to pay for half of getting all the mounting hardware new? the way he's been wording his responses sounds like he thinks i'm the one that's SOL. maybe i'm a good seller, but if something like this were to happen on something i sold, i'd be all over remedying it. shit, i sold a part for the vfr on ebay a few weeks back, but it took me over a week to ship it out. it was only $10, but i felt i hadn't held up my end of the bargain... i shipped it with a $10 bill. - ScottyB - 02-27-2009 Mike Wrote:maybe i'm a good seller i've never bought anything from anyone that tried to take care of a semi-late shipping like you - Mike - 02-27-2009 ScottyB Wrote:Mike Wrote:maybe i'm a good seller people suck. if i ever take too long to ship something i'll typically refund shipping (i sell video games all the time)... since shipping on the part was more than the cost of it, i couldn't LOSE money on selling something ![]() hurray for me and my 100% feedback on ebay. - Mike - 03-03-2009 So I finally got a hold of ASR and they're shipping all the missing parts for $35. I told the seller, but am not keeping my fingers crossed that he offers anything. And then Butty Club. "We don't have that bolt any longer." Fucking christ. Luckily I have my nifty bolt measuring tool at home. Mcmaster-carr has some stuff that will work for dirty cheap... Might as well replace all 4 shock mount bolts with beefy stuff while I'm at it. - xvxax - 03-03-2009 McMaster has saved my sanity many times. Good selection, and the shipping is quick. Bummer on the eBay. Been there over a part that arrived in worse condition than described. - Mike - 03-03-2009 Mike Wrote:I told the seller, but am not keeping my fingers crossed that he offers anything. As expected, his response to my notification, "Good deal!" He never did respond when I was hoping we'd be able to work out a deal for the parts I paid for but never received. People suck. - Mike - 03-04-2009 Joy. The screws (flathead) I need for the upper mount are M10x1.25 at 40mm length. McMaster only has M10x1.5. Hopefully I'll get home and find I erroneously wrote 1.25... - .RJ - 03-04-2009 Just use 10x1.5 (nylock) nuts on the top of the shock mount (inside the car) instead of the stock 10x1.25's I'm pretty sure I have some if you want me to look. You'll have to buy a box of 25 or 50 from mcmaster. - Mike - 03-04-2009 The upper mount is threaded. DIN 7991 refers to coarse pitch only from what I've found... Or at the very least, it insists on M10 being 1.5. I'll drop that place a line. I'm guessing if the interwebs doesn't show a single match, they ain't gonna have it. - Maengelito - 03-04-2009 I go to this place anytime I can't find weird metric shit and they always have had it or can order it: http://www.fastenersusa.info/specialty- ... -inc/4510/ call'em and if they have it, I'll pick it up for you. - Evan - 03-05-2009 will regular hex head screws not work? - Mike - 03-05-2009 Evan Wrote:will regular hex head screws not work? no, they won't seat correctly since the mount has a conical taper. i'm considering just going that route, but i think i'd rather just throw another $65 for a fully new mount than risk safety. - Mike - 03-05-2009 fuck it, butty club gets the money again. woman is back saturday... gotta get the pile of jackstands. - Maengelito - 03-06-2009 Mike Wrote:GDI, sure enough, M10x1.25. $5 to whoever can find me: my lowes has 'em ![]() the label says x50 but the shorter bolt in the pic is x40 - Mike - 03-06-2009 dem ain't flathead screws. they need to look like this or they won't seat correctly: ![]() but thanks! |
