RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 02-26-2019 lol wow Project: Space Wagon - Sijray21 - 02-26-2019 Those LV seats tho... RE: Project: Space Wagon - .RJ - 05-31-2019 Still plugging along. Couple of road trips lately and no hiccups and it really has been nice to drive with everything sorted out. The exhaust remains some of the best money I've ever spent on a car, blasting through tunnels in a late night empty DC last night will hopefully leave me with a rosy tinted memory of this car... which is of course necessary to fuel the next bad decision. Its listed for sale on e90 post and I think I've exhausted the first wave of potential buyers - some nibbles that seemed serious and someone that came to look at it in person but I think they were really looking for a stock E91 and left me with a pretty lowball offer. I'm thinking I should try to get it listed on BaT and see what the market brings. After that, I dont know. I did learn that the 'fixed' dieselgate vw wagons are silly cheap ($12-13k for a car with 40-50k miles and a 2/24 warranty) but I cant live with that as my only car.... From experience you'll have a mixed bag of mkv and mkvi stuff from the door handles/overall feel of the interior to the 'infotainment system' on those diesel gate cars. It's substantially less appealing than a mk7 gsw or alltrack. Unless you can get one stupid cheap (under $10k with under 30k miles) I don't think you'll be happy with it. Not to mention how long they've been sitting on lots not being driven. RE: Project: Space Wagon - JPolen01 - 05-31-2019 BaT will probably leg hump this thing into the next price bracket. Do it. Not to mention how long they've been sitting on lots not being driven. Yup. Laura had a 2012 TDI / 6MT Jetta Wagon..... I didnt hate it as an appliance, which is where this would be going. The math is pretty amazing though, buy car for $15k, get $20k total back from VW for it, buy same car (essentially) back for $12k. Thanks VW! There are some cars down in the $10k range but they're base model or have higher miles. So for $12k with the warranty, its basically a paid for up front, disposable appliance in the long run. Dog barfed on the seat? Rallycross? Sweet jumps? Who cares, it'll get a viking funeral in 6 years anyways. It would mean going back to 2 cars but I feel like I made my point after 2 years of this and trying to shove a square peg into the 'one car to do it all' hole. Just keep your garage open for whatever german self-inflicted poor decision follows as a 2nd car.... S550 Mustang? The possibilities are blowing up my brain. RE: Project: Space Wagon - G.Irish - 05-31-2019 TTRS or 911 RE: Project: Space Wagon - JPolen01 - 05-31-2019 (05-31-2019, 02:56 PM).RJ Wrote: I feel like I made my point after 2 years of this and trying to shove a square peg into the 'one car to do it all' hole. You heard it here first folks! RE: Project: Space Wagon - Sijray21 - 05-31-2019 i still think he's going to peg himself with a manual-only car though.
