Well, we ruled out the CX5, V60, V60 Cross Country, Jetta Sportwagen, and some Mercedes thing.
All Road or 328 wagon it is! Well, maybe Golf Sportwagen... we didn't get a chance to look at it.

Yeah. It's infinitely better than my 11 year old Saab and significantly better than our five year old Clubman. I wondered to myself what you didn't like, because I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Even Melissa made an aggressive two lane move 10 minutes after getting behind the wheel and she's the most tentative driver I know. I was shocked just how natural the drive came to her.
I looked around for an A4, but I didn't realize they stopped the wagon in the US after 2012. That's a no-go cause we want a 4+ year warranty.

Yeah, A4 isn't an option. A4 has much better driving dynamics. Quicker inputs, less lethargic. I really don't feel like they handled the added ride height well. And it's basically a 2009 car with minor updates - they've been lazy.

That might be a good thing for Audi - lets them actually shake out all the crap that always goes wrong.
The wife thought the 328d was "laggy" in pick up (ironic, given it's diesel) and the gas pedal was "soft" in the allroad. I thought the drives were very similar.
FWIW, the hood line of the V60 is nearly eye level. Not sure why they made the hood so high, but it's pretty obnoxious.

Went to install the rear parking sensor this weekend. Apparently there isn't really a standard for them. It's hard to know which OEM install kit you have and of course the one I bought doesn't match mine... And it's an actual full kit - has the brain, all wiring, a beeper. So that's up for sale and I'm back to the drawing board for figuring out which kit I have and ordering the lone part. Will end up rattle-canning it because the car is to be gone within the next month or so.
