Sounds like you just had an air bubble in the system. Was the heat working when you heard the water running sound? Just keep an eye on the coolant level and top it off with distilled water if its low.

The Subaru coolant (if I recall correctly) is the same as the Peak Long Life coolant. You're supposed to mix that 50/50 with distilled water and then throw in the Subaru coolant conditioner (the chunky stuff Scotty is talking about). But if you're not losing much coolant due to air bubbles, just top it off with water.

You don't need special coolant. I've always run 50/50.

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 11-21-2013

Radiator was full, Upper reservoir was pretty low. Added some distilled water and although I still heard the rushing water sound, it wasnt nearly as noticeable. Overflow was empty as well when cold.

I still think I have some air in the system, but no issues this morning driving in, temp never spiked up like yesterday. Gonna keep the AP hooked up so I can keep an eye on it.

You know the right answer to this question.

Gunmetal. I hate black wheels.

Leaning towards the black.

Once you go black..

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - HAULN-SS - 12-09-2013

Do both options kind of look shitty?

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - WRXtranceformed - 12-09-2013

I actually like the black better on that car

+1, looks like ass both ways. Everytime. Unless you legitimately have a $70k plus car, black on black just looks like you are "in the ghettooooooo"

Neither option should be entertained. What is wrong with stock colored wheels?

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 12-09-2013

Not a big fan of silver

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - navin - 12-09-2013

I'd say gunmetal over black -- black just makes it look entirely to ghetto.

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - Jake - 12-09-2013

Gunmetallllllll.

Re: Project: AWD TURBO Family Hauler (04 Forester 2.5XT) - JustinG - 12-09-2013

That gif. I just lost it lmao

Why not a bronzey color? Its different from gold but still brighter than the gunmetal/black

Winter mode engage....

I actually don't mind the silver as much, may just stick with it.

Should be ok, gives an extra half inch of clearance with the 65s, others havent had an issue running the 65s while lowered. Doesn't seem like there will be any rubbing issues.

Did all the pads and rotors finally too.

Definitely needed rear pads.
