Waiting on payment for my LS1/M3 today, I reflect yet again on all those numbnut 16-year old commentors with black spraypainted wheels on their otherwise stock cars. They comment "Could be done for $5k cause my uncle's nephew's roommate said so".

Just like the BaT thread where the guy called the Forgeline RS wheels "Chrome" and in general seemed to have no idea what he was actually talking about. (I did appreciate the article Dave since it brought attention to the car!) Just crazy how many people proclaim themselves experts when they have no idea what they are talking about.

Almost as bad is when people link another swapped e36 (325i too) that is $3k under your asking price and looks like this below...seriously?

At least all the ricerkid attention sounds like it led to a legitimate lead. The best I've gotten, amid a daily stream of Prince Abdullahs or offshore oceanographers who want to pay me by Paypal scam, is a registered sex offender who lives in the ghetto of SC (yeah, I think it's prudent to research people before you meet up with them for a test drive  )

Maybe he's just trying to save on the cost of candy? It wouldn't take anything else to lure me into the Jag.

When people ride your ass in a parking garage with speed bumps and when you go to slow down over the first speed bump the tap your rear bumper.

Like do people not realize that some people don't want to or can't go over speed bumps at 20mph? I literally just don't want to drive at JMU. These kids get stupider and stupider with their driving every day I swear. Like dude bro I don't care if you tapped it or slammed into me learn how to drive and co-exist with other human beings like a caring privileged fucking attitude not a me me me attitude.

Nah hitting them at less than 20mph gets NOVA people into a roid rage too. However my lack of fucks for how close they can get their Grand Cherokee to my rear bumper makes it considerably easier for me to deal with this bizarre social phenomenon.

Mobile phone carrier sound quality. It's so refreshing to speak over VoIP (assuming good data rate) or POTS line instead of the delayed, trashy, marginally intelligible call quality that we've come to accept from US carriers. And I'm going to go ahead and blame it on YOU FACEBOOK PEOPLE for wanting 6" screens and watching video on your phones, you have ruined the network and the idea of a phone that *I* want. :finger:
I would pay MORE if I could step back to 3G data and get 100% better voice quality but I don't have that choice.

Does it get texts?

I remember when VOIP was turrible and I refused to use it.

Most new-ish smartphones support HD voice now (even iphones). Sounds great.

time to upgrade from that 5 year old faceook phone Chan Wink

people who get in my space on a plane.

fat people with their arms over the armrest. fat people with their legs in my leg space, people in front who put their hands over the seat (this seriously happens every flight i'm on), people in front who reach behind the seat and grope my legs (seriously, why would you reach behind the seat with your arm and grab anything? TWICE? that was the last flight i was on).

why can't people not suck at flying? just fucking sit there. take a piss before we board. don't eat stinky shit. take a shower that day. keep your hands to yourself. respect the space of those around you.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - SlimKlim - 02-02-2016

Last fall was the first time I flew since 2008, planes have gotten markedly shittier. People over 6'2" or so are just treated as statistical outliers that don't matter I guess. On the way to Seattle we were lucky and had a row of 3 to ourselves so we could move around, but on the flight back I had my knees pressed FIRMLY into the back of the seat in front of me for the entire duration of the flight, while 2 toddlers jabbered behind us and an infant screamed bloody murder somewhere in the back.

I now officially refuse to fly unless I can at least get a "economy plus" seat with more legroom, I simply don't want to go anywhere bad enough to be treated like cattle.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 02-02-2016

Planes are now the Greyhound of the sky. This shit ain't a luxury anymore like it was before our time.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Mike - 02-02-2016

depends on who you fly with.

i usually fly with alaska and their planes and service are great.
just flew with american this week and was pretty impressed. service was pretty shit, but plane was nice and that's all i really care about.
delta and united are very hit or miss. i tend to avoid both. cattle treatment like whoa.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 02-02-2016

I'm talking more about the people on planes not so much the planes or airlines. Whenever I fly I question how some of the people on the flight could afford to fly. Then I remember it's actually pretty cheap.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - WRXtranceformed - 02-02-2016

Our VOIP is absolute garbage, our entire company is having issues with our new phone system (and what grinds my gears is that our office was one of the first to trial it out before the company committed. All we gave was negative feedback on how it was much worse than our old system. BUT THEY HAVE TOUCH SCREEN PHONES!! Someone pulled the trigger anyway). I forwarded my work line to my cell phone and I make 100% of my calls from my cell now. The quality is much better.

+1 on everything Mike said, this is a big part of my working life. It doesn't justify some of the flyer outbursts you hear about in the news every now and then but honestly I can definitely commiserate with some of the stuff frequent fliers have to deal with. It's funny, when I first started traveling a lot on planes I would get really excited and talk to my neighbors, get to know their story, etc. Then I get at least 3 Bloody Marys, water, coffee spilled on me, smells, crying babies, I could go on and on. Now, I have my headphones on as soon as I enter the plane and I really don't talk to anyone (no matter how nice the old lady is next to me trying to initiate conversation). Best case scenario I fall asleep after getting some work done but it's hard for me to sleep on planes. It's sad and some of that is the fliers but a lot of it is the experience the carriers are providing.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Mike - 02-02-2016

dude, get some bose qc and wear a beanie so you can pull it over your eyes without looking like a douche wearing one of those eye covers.

also depends on the airline. the budget carriers are a shit-show. my american flight was really low-class, but i was flying to cackalack so it may have been more representative of that than the airline.

man, i feel like such an asshole judging people like this, but whatever... facts is facts.
