I'm sure everybody's wondering what's going on, so I'll start with some back-story.

I had Rusty torn pretty far down because I was planning on some summer renovations, the main one being a shaved bay. I was also working on a new air management setup so I had the suspension off of the car sitting off to the side.

In the middle of all this, I decided to get Ratty's old engine running while it was sitting in the driveway, all out of sheer boredom. I made a new wiring harness for the engine and during the starting process managed to hydro-lock one of the cylinders full of gasoline. I pulled the spark plugs to plunge the gas out, and while turning the engine over, the battery lead hooked up to the harness sparked. The fuel ignited and sent a fireball towards the garage. By sheer chance, the flaming gas landed directly on another 5 gallon tank of gas. The garage more or less exploded. It went up so fast that there was literally no stopping it.

I did sort of like rusty in a weird way. The upside of it being gone is that Mike Burroughs can't keep screwing with the damn thing, he should've let be 2-3 versions ago IMO.

I personally loved it, more so before he chopped the roof off than now but to each his own. It's one of those cars that was more than a car, if you guys saw his farewell video/thread the first time it was totaled, it was like a friend to him. It was no good to anyone other than him anyways, it had been totaled like twice (the time it cracked its frame on a speed bump, and the time his friend hit that semi with it) and was just an all around piece of shit. But he seemed to love that piece and made it into an expression. Was it a beautiful car? Not at all, it looked like hell, and was an all around shit box. It was kinda cool in that sense though in my opinion. It was fast, loud, ratty, rusted, ruined, and all around awesome. Kinda what building cars is about, making yourself happy, who cares what anyone else thinks?

I think it could have been the boy and his car story, but it just came off like he was trying too hard. he made it look like shit on purpose, the rust was a fashion statement/attention whoring, and he made sure to offset it with some irony like those wheels and the ghetto airbags. Its rolling irony - the perfect hipster car.
