haha nice one Mike.

- Mike - 03-31-2008

sign had been replaced less than 24 hours later Sad they painted it yellow Tongue

- Mike - 05-13-2008

a followup to the sign: it was knocked back down the following day, removed, and then was just put up again recently... lol

since the hatch is my street car again, i need to source some seat belt buckles and since the stock light output is absolutely abyssmal (i roll with my high beams on 24/7 and they still don't light up shit), i ordered a set of HIDs. BLINGGG!

to do:
- lower front end
- paint hatch area w/ truck bedliner
- flush brake fluid

want to do:
- b16 tranny
- turbo
- cf hood
- sways
- replace bolts in camber kit
- self-alignment

i need more speed, but don't feel like swapping out a motor that i know to be in good shape.

You could do a K20 swap right? I'd consider an NA swap over a turbocharged application for a daily driver... just because of the gremlins you get to deal with. Especially when you're boosting a car that wasn't boosted from the factory.

Sure, for $6-7k....

- Mike - 05-13-2008

a k20 swap at the end of the day will be 2x or more than a good turbo setup, a lot more work, and slower.

you're way low. i'm pretty certain they're still 8-10 and a shit-ton of work.

- BLINGMW - 05-13-2008

why on earth would you want it, especially now that's it's retired to street use, to be faster? More sign-running-over potential? :dunno:

- Mike - 05-13-2008

it isn't retired by any means. street use means i use it to get to work on rainy days.

- Mike - 05-13-2008

and don't worry, the turbo idea is a pipe dream... the new trans is a must.

- WRXtranceformed - 05-13-2008

You can't find a wrecked RSX somewhere for cheap? That's an awful lot to throw into a Honda

- .RJ - 05-13-2008

WRXtranceformed Wrote:You can't find a wrecked RSX somewhere for cheap?

The engine is only part of the cost. Everything is different - engine is mounted backwards compared to the older cars, axles are different, electronic bits...

- WRXtranceformed - 05-13-2008

I would imagine that people who go through that then go ahead and turbocharge the K20 too...

It starts to add up real fast.

I'll bring that wheel lug key on Sunday. Tongue

:?:

because 8k and 13k are the same thing?

- WRXtranceformed - 05-13-2008

Well if swapping a K20 is slower than turbocharging the b18sciocuaoaidanlkdsaiodsn motors you can put in it, why would anyone do just the NA swap? From what I remember hearing, and I could definitely be wrong on this because I know about as much about Hondas as I do about the backside of RJs balls, the K20 is one of the best engines to turbocharge if you're looking for huge power.

I dont really know for sure, but I suspect thats not the case. Even left stock internally, they have been proven fragile with repeated high RPM use above the stock rev limiter.

- Evan - 05-13-2008

boost = high rpm?

seems like very different forces to me....

- Mike - 05-13-2008

my current motor is "the best" common honda motor for boost. low compression, long gears...
