Where do you usually sell your watches? I got a couple of Citizens to sell. (nothing high priced, just thinking I could get $50-100 out of them? :dunno: )
Yep Joey nailed it. I've had the best success in the following order:
1) WUS forums (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/">http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/</a><!-- m -->)
2) Reddit WatchExchange (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/">https://www.reddit.com/r/Watchexchange/</a><!-- m -->)

Watchuseek requires I think a minimum of 100 or 150 posts before you can post a for sale thread in the forum though, and they are really anal about people posting just to raise their post count. Like they want you to participate in discussions I guess. But there is a really mature, awesome population of people that are constantly buying watches there and a pretty good reputation forum to check people out before you do business with them.

I just sold my Steinhart on WUS, the buyer had no posting or sales history but I asked him to pay Paypal via gift (since I had nothing to prove with my positive seller history but he did). No issues, his watch just showed up.

The only other good option I know of is eBay, but eBay sucks

So I got to looking at Navitimers again today.

I am going to buy this watch, have sex with it, then have sex with mad chicks because I'm wearing it. :thumbup:

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - Apoc - 08-16-2017

Honestly, I prefer that model... but my Carrera is blue and having two blue watches just seems lame. I'd consider swapping the Carrera for a Senna and getting the blue face Brietling, but my wife gave me the Carrera when I finished grad school. So, here I am, looking a white face Brietlings. #onepercenterproblems

The reality is I'm not buying anything until I get a promotion or retire. I was just killing a few minutes at work. :?

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - SlimKlim - 08-17-2017

I tried on the Navitimer 01 in 40mm last winter.

It's excellent motivation to try not to suck too hard at work.

Re: Lee's Watch Thread for MM'ers of Impeccable Taste - WRXtranceformed - 08-17-2017

If you guys remember, I scooped a Navitimer clone (Air Blue Navigator Chrono, sub brand of Deep Blue) for myself and another one for my friend / our realtor as a thank you gift when we sold / bought with him. At the summer special of $99, I couldn't say no. Swiss quartz, huge sapphire crystal over the entire face...you can't go wrong. It has kept near perfect time, one of the most accurate watches I own outside of the new atomic Protrek

Mine:

Black one for my buddy:

If you can find one for sale it's a great way to get a feel for actually wearing the Navitimer as a daily without dropping $4500-$6500. And I can say it does wear awesome. I think these were discontinued by Air Blue though, you can still find a few for sale on JS and Amazon but I'm guessing the owner may have had a patent dispute with Breitling because they look so similar

The black one looks nice, but even if I could find one a 45mm would look ridiculous on my little baby wrists.

You were talking about gold watches the other day!

That is definitely terrible tho

I will say, the black dial does look really sharp and Navitimer-cloney on a nice leather strap:

Details when I'm not on Tapatalk and shitty airport wifi.

Nice! A tag is on my short list of watches I'd like to own in the next few years.

Had a watch nerd moment today at PetSmart. The guy in front of me in line was wearing a Citizen Nighthawk like Lee has. He bought a collar and went over to the machine that engraves them. I paid for my items and went over to him and asked him how he liked it. He told me that he is an amateur pilot and loves the flight specific features the watch has. He also vented some about it having a mineral crystal instead of a sapphire crystal. He said it wasn't as clear but is easy to polish out scratches in. He then peeked at my Tissot that I was wearing and started asking about them as a dress watch. We ended up trading watches and trying them on; as both of us were interested in purchasing a watch similar to what we each had. 20 minutes later we had gone through all the watches we both had and it was a very pleasant, fun conversation. I don't run into fellow watch fans much; but, when I do, it's awesome.

Did you get his number?

Ha that is awesome! It's amazing how hobbies or common interests bring random people together! How did you like the Nighthawk after trying it on? It's my new favorite travel watch. I feel dude's pain tho...i am no fan of mineral crystals. That's why i got mine with a sapphire crystal upgrade on it Big Grin

Apoc Wrote:Someone link me watches that have hour and minute dials that rotate to show time. For example, the outer hour dial shows 3 at the "north" position and 25 at the same position for a time of 3:25. In other words, a single fixed hand and it's the watch face that keeps time.

Like this, but mechanical (quartz is okay) and a respected brand. Also, it doesn't look shitty like this one does.

You're looking for a "Jump Hour", I've seen some vintage stuff from the 60s and 70s.
