its actually because the mad tyte swap didn't fit and they didn't want to cut up their hoods... if they gutted the good they would have room (in most cases)

So I got bored yesterday! Friday night i pulled the seats... Saturday I loaded to cooler up and drove to Warrenton (the closest place with a grocery store that sold dry ice).

The HOT mess... it took a couple of hours to dry ice the car by section... this is going to take a solid day to clean up lol

24lbs of sound deadening and dash mat came out! I'm sure I'll vacuum up another pound of random stuff.

the next step is to CLEAN the interior and remove the rear seat mounts. its got 240k miles of dust and grime in there and random metal bits. then I think i'll paint the inside a nice light color.

I'd say just clean up the leftover glue stuff and leave it unpainted... knock the paint out for the interior when you get it caged :thumbup:

there are some scratches on the floor from the removal and some spot welds that have "browned" with either dirt or very early rust. I'm going to clean it up and see what happens. I might just do some spot treatment with the chassis saver to make sure the scratches don't develop any rust and the browned areas don't get any worse.

Or...just...you know...do what you want to do and paint it. I feel like this thread is nothing but people telling you not to do anything. It'd probably be easier to paint most of it now. Then touch up or respray after the cage. This way you can get some nice coats on with nothing in your way and then go back and fix whatever has to be removed for the cage

Or its, you know people that have painted the floor boards before, then got their car caged, and then had to repaint... :roll:
It's not fun prepping for paint 2x times.
