You coming to see Carlos? If so, hit me up, maybe we can grab lunch/dinner.

Nope, found a place locally that's doing it. Carlos seems to be very busy and currently has Christina's car that he is working on. He also hasn't managed to return any phone call I've ever placed to him... since August. This place is a shop with a dedicated fabricator and they actually answer my calls.

Well he *could* go full retard and buy my Moton Motorsports 3-way remotes I have for sale right now for an E46 for $4500. Just think, its a deal, 50% off!

For an E46?

You should sell those to Taylor.

Shocks/struts. Maybe coil springs? :dunno:

All I know it is because racecar so I just don't question it

Moton Motorsports (high-end shock), remote adjustable canisters with 3 adjustments (rebound + low speed compression + high-speed compression).

It was a joke about how we pick up cars than throw mods at them worth way more than the price of the car.

Re: Das Pace: My '97 M3/4/5 - SlimKlim - 01-11-2016

So will the dash go back in around the cage (cut to fit I assume), or are you just gonna ziptie the cluster somewhere in there and roll with it?

Thanks, but no thanks. My low end 3 series deserves only the best. You insult me with your $4000 shocks.

I want to get the dash back in it, since I'm keeping the HVAC for defrost and thus need to have that control panel in place somewhere. And I want to mount my AIM Solo where the radio went. I'll just hack away at the dash's corners a bit.

Re: Das Pace: My '97 M3/4/5 - Jake - 02-15-2016

Dragged the space heater into the garage over the weekend, threw on a thermal shirt and got some stuff done.

Cage is painted (needs some touch up in spots with a brush). Dash is installed and required some trimming via angle grinder, which I expected. Got the seats, wheel and harnesses back in as well. The only outstanding item is the switch for my fan, it's piggybacked on the cigarette lighter wiring and something there keeps blowing that fuse in the fuse box. I'm guessing a wire is shorting out somewhere, so need to check that.

Also pulled off all of my old vinyl. Trevor Parmer/VBD is cutting new stuff to help match up with the cage color and make the car look a little more cohesive.

Weather this coming weekend should be fairly nice, so I'm planning to do my fluid swaps and catback install on Saturday, then take the car for an alignment (according to DJ, that needs to be done after cage install). I have a radio "blank" faceplate coming in the mail, which will allow me to mount my AIM Solo and have it look halfway decent.

Onward!

Looks great! How do you even get in the driver seat? That looks so tight, haha.

Very carefully.

Legs first and then you kind of fall into the seat. I'm looking at getting a quick-disconnect steering wheel hub so I can get in and out faster. Will have to have a solution by the time I do comp school as part of passing involves getting out of the car in a certain time (or quicker) and I dunno if I can do it right now.

Whatever you do, get the NRG 2.5 quick release. I HATE the quick release on mine currently but mine was already done and would be a serious investment to get back to stock (entire column was replaced).

Re: Das Pace: My '97 M3/4/5 - Kaan - 02-15-2016

NRG 2.5 is worth it!
