house brand autozone/advance/napa ceramics are great for street use.
Ive put them on quite a few things including my truck and my wifes piggy g35x and they have been fine.
they usually have a lifetime warranty too
Not sure why people overthink street pads.

I ordered front and rear hps's for the s2000 from amazon. They accidentally sent a "case" of rear pads. 4 sets. I have rear pads for life (at the rate I go through cars). Wish they would have messed up the fronts and sent me a case of those instead.

I think I ended up getting the Wagner quiet stop for my STi from Advance back in the day because it was cheapest after rebate. They were fine for a street pad.

I was running my AP to show coolant temps this morning. All is good, running around 199/198 on the highway and it starts to creep up to 208, this isn't normal, it typically wont move up past 203.
I drop Averie off, come back and crank it up, it shoots up to 219. But once I start moving it starts to cool off, and gets back down to its normal 203 range.
On the highway again, OTW to work it bounces around from 199-208. I pull into my parking deck and It creeps up to 213 and I suddenly hear the sound of running water through my dash, and the temp almost instantly starts to drop down to 199.
I have noticed this running water sound more so lately in the mornings on cold starts and I remember it starting to do it over the past few months at start up, never though it was a big deal, and when running the water temp gauge on my AP this never happened.
So fellow Subaru owners, what say ye? Leak somewhere (havent noticed anything). Low on coolant, so airbubble? (where did the coolant go?) I know I left the cap off the overflow for like a day, but I never smelled any coolant, and I still don't smell coolant. Checked the coolant after the last autox and levels looked fine? Most of the posts on the subaru forums say to check my coolant levels, thinking an airpocket in the heater core.
FYI, WP and Tstat were listed as replaced during the Tbelt install by the PO.

That happened once in my STi and it was an air bubble in the system. Maybe do a full coolant swap so you feel good about it?

That was done at the tbelt change. Do these things take special subaru coolant? Or is advance auto stuff ok?

We put fancypants Subaru coolants in David's STi when we did the timing belt, then had a fun time burping the whole system. How long ago did you do the tbelt, is it possible that there is just air in the system from the flush and fill?

PO had a shop do the change and they said burping the system was horrible. It was done about 15k ago. I'm thinking there was still a bubble and normal burnoff.

apparently it does....your supposed to mix it 50/50. Prob just pour some distilled water in there and see what happens.

That seems like a good bet then, we topped off the system a couple of times so if the PO didn't bother that could definitely be it - though it does seem a little strange that it didn't show up until now.

yeah youre supposed to use the subaru coolant. it either has extra magic pixie dust or leaves out magic evil dust, i dont remember.

the suby coolant has chunks of leakstop in it. that simple. its to mask the headgasket problems, and for the most part works pretty well.
