Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - CaptainHenreh - 04-20-2012 It should also be noted that Ryan Thayer, who was a pretty good president by most accounts, never actually set a tire on a race surface. Though a large number of us have grown up sucking at the teat of road racing specifically, it isn't really a requirement of membership, or even officership. It is definitely not a requirement for Starship. Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - Cody - 04-20-2012 Rex... you sir, have been killin' it with your comments hahaha Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - Jake - 04-20-2012 ...and the JGC can tow! So if anyone has an el-oh-el DJ moment at VIR, you might be able to help get 'em back. But yeah, both on Dan & Chris' accounts, owning a Jeep is no reason to NOT be leadership. If the passion's there, you'll help facilitate "butts in seats" - driving something with three pedals and sweet wheels and other mods Ôëá good leadership in any way. Exactly, Jake did all of those things :bootyshake: Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - Kaan - 04-20-2012 CaptainHenreh Wrote:It should also be noted that Ryan Thayer, who was a pretty good president by most accounts, never actually set a tire on a race surface. this was probably my fault. he sat shotgun for a couple of my autox runs. i might have caused some trauma Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - Jake - 04-20-2012 DavidM Wrote:Jake Wrote:driving something with three pedals and sweet wheels and other mods Ôëá good leadership in any way. Oh please. The little girlycar was just a bonus. Lulz. Well played. Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - Goodspeed - 04-20-2012 I'm pretty sure I was some form of an officer in this club before I actually owned a car  Having said that, I'm glad to see you throwing your hat in the ring Dan. I have a lot of brain activity to get through my fingertips for everyone but I'll pose these questions first: What dynamic of MM officership suits you? Would you prefer to be the one to preside over decision making/event planning while leaving the particulars to others in the group, or do you think you'd dig yourself more into the trenches so to speak? How willing do you think you'd be to reprimand someone in your group if their performance isn't satisfactory, and ultimately, what would you do to correct it? Re: Dan Kastner- Running for President '12-'13 - little baby jesus - 04-20-2012 I second what Joey said. The leadership role is to get people INVOLVED in the first place, and once they experience it the extent of their involvement is up to them. Owning a car that helps you get the most people down to the track is a MUCH better move than buying a two seater that you can tell those members you race (but if you can have BOTH cars then life's troubles will go away) haha JEEP GRANDS w/ JERSEY PLATES FOR LIFE |
