I've felt a lot safer daily driving with much stronger brakes. - Mike - 08-23-2004 but didnt you get hp+ for track? - Chris - 08-23-2004 I haven't ordered anything yet. Friday I'll get another paycheck and do it then. prob calling Matt at carbotech bc I haven't had the money to get them from Chan. - Sijray21 - 08-23-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:but didnt you get hp+ for track? i got some i'll be using for the track front and rear this time, i just have the front's for the ultimates, i'll put a comparo up here after i get them on. - G.Irish - 08-23-2004 theguywiththeSi Wrote:MichaelJComputer Wrote:but didnt you get hp+ for track? I wouldn't recommend it. I glazed some HP+ at my first track weekend ever. Start out with something like the Carbotech P+. - Maengelito - 08-23-2004 G.Irish Wrote:I wouldn't recommend it. I glazed some HP+ at my first track weekend ever. Start out with something like the Carbotech P+. carbotech p+ is a good pad to use for your first event. just be sure to bed them in beforehand and not on track like evan did for me last november - BLINGMW - 08-23-2004 so yeah, I don't know exactly how they compare, but I've had no problems with the HP+ at the track. Never had them glaze or fade, although they aren't designed to hold up to R tires or race duty. - Evan - 08-23-2004 psssshh Ultimates are great for the track, especially for a beginner. Stopped my 3100 lb pig + me + fat old man instructor my first 2 weekends. I still use ultimates on the miata, and outbrake RJs ass like no tomorrow! - BLINGMW - 08-23-2004 Evan Wrote:I still use ultimates on the miata, and outbrake RJs ass like no tomorrow! It's easy when you're going slower to start with! (my car can outbrake anyone!) - Chris - 08-24-2004 Maengelito Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:I wouldn't recommend it. I glazed some HP+ at my first track weekend ever. Start out with something like the Carbotech P+. pretty sure I'll order the P+.... Jay, we'll have to compare our pads after slummit - Mike - 08-24-2004 chris, you may get away with the ultimates on track. my first event they help up, but my second one they were gone in half a session. you car is a little heavier than mine, but the speeds you'll be braking from will be slower too. - .RJ - 08-24-2004 FWIW... Carbotech 1108 (XP8) compound 2 Day Summit Point 2 Day Beaverun 1 Day Beaverun 1 Autox (20+ runs) 2 Day VIR-North 2 Day Mid-Ohio All street miles in between '00 ITR, No ducting, dust sheilds removed. Tires = A032's and Hankooks. They are at the rivets, and time to replace. Very streetable, decent cold bite, no noise on street (my P+ rear pads make noise though). ![]()
- Evan - 08-24-2004 those pads have at least 2 weekends left sissy - .RJ - 08-24-2004 If I want the rivets to grind through my rotors ![]() Fucking rivets. - Chris - 08-24-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:but the speeds you'll be braking from will be slower too. always talking shit mike... you forgot about my secret NOS yO! but seriously, I'm actually worried about having an extra person in my car on track (for the weight that is)... I'll talk to matt at carbotech and see what he recommends for pads. - Evan - 08-24-2004 .RJ Wrote:If I want the rivets to grind through my rotorsI always took 'em to the backingplates on the pig. never hurt the rotors. hell I remember at beaver when I went all the way through the plates :p - Dragon - 08-24-2004 .RJ Wrote:If I want the rivets to grind through my rotorsThe rivets will wear away before the rotors are harmed you pussy. |
