I agree, bring back quick reply. Also agree with others about making posts more discernable and the actual text different from the rest of the post as you have to "search" for what they said among all the clutter.

However, AWESOME update. I love the front page setup with events and everything. And now that im a working man, I spend WAAAAYYY too much time on the forums bored at work. Huge workloads havent hit me yet as its my second week working so yeah. Keep it coming!

Again, thanks for the feedback. I like whoever posted the updated shades of gray. I think something along those lines could work better. I did the forum skinning late last night and got it to a "good enough" state where I could make things open to users again without much fear. Obviously details now need to be sorted out.

Avatars will be moving to the left side. I agree with Jeff, my head will asplode. I may get that done tonight, or in the next few days.

More black and yellow could happen, too. I'll see how I can integrate that and make it look nice.

I'm in Williamsburg right now on some days-off, so I dunno what will get done tomorrow - it's Water Country and relaxation day. Whatever doesn't get done immediately will be coming soon.

Hey uh, really important too. When you update your email address in your User CP it completely locks you out of the forum unless an admin reapproves the new email address. Evan and I were locked out over the past two days and I had to text Thayer to have him reinstate me! (thanks Ryan! haha) :lol:

So yeah, remove that if you can. It seems kind of pointless to have that level of security on this board.

my suggestions:
when I updated my email address, my account was deactivated until moderator activation. Id recommend not requiring this.
when I tried to register for a new account all of the form validation failed even though all text boxes were filled.

the design looks great, thanks for putting in the work to get this done jake. :thumbup:

Ryan called me and mentioned the email issues. Hopefully I can figure that out soon - I'll keep y'all posted. Interesting issue about the new user registration. Obviously that needs to be fixed as well. I'll see what I can do there...

Things I've fixed so far... Got rid of the subject line showing in each post. Moved our avatars to the LEFT side as they should have been Big Grin Any NEWLY created posts with links should open in a new window. Apparently the existing links won't work with the hack... still researching that. Until then, Command-Click on a Mac or Right-Click on a PC to open in a new tab or window...

Working on the Quick Reply stuff, but I need to go to bed and deal with more of it later.

Any chance you can bring back the event registration mod? If not, you need to make sure the changes that were made to the DB for that are undone.

Also +1 vote for more banners up top, although that's a luxury, not a necessity.

FWIW I just posted to say I thought the new online badge was pretty cool. It doesn't seem to be obstructed at all to me, and I like the placement/look. But all that's pretty minor.
