I would do it... I did it on my passat and I can say so far it is one of the the most beneficial and justified upgrades I have made...

Arg, had a hiccup with my stereo setup. The factory bluetooth won't work after I installed speakers and amps even with the factory head-unit still in. My girlfriend was going to buy me the HIDs for my birthday but now she will be getting me the new head-unit instead. Frustrating.

Why will it not work? There are plenty of workarounds. Just gotta have a little ingenuity.

No idea to be honest, i won't touch it myself on account of it being a lease. The guy who does my installs here is a good guy, always tossing in some free wiring and such and charging me lower than the store should, so i believe him when he tells me he spent a couple hours on the phone with other installers and tech support. The set-up right now is the stock head unit, to a hi-lo converter to my two amps, one four way and a mono for the sub. Anyway now the bluetooth works, but it's extremely faint and crackles.

I would do and see what it looks like. I just put HID's in my car, but then again I have factory projectors..

You have factory Halogen projectors, not HID projectors, there is a LARGE difference. Although I am pleased "enough" with HID kits in halogen projectors or reflector housings, its not the right way to do it, nor will it give you nearly the light and Beam pattern (notice im not saying cutoff) as HID housings have much wider beam pattern.

Yes, I do have factory Halogen projectors. I am not about to do some retrofitting of HID projectors anytime soon. I think it looks good enough, and as long as it isn't blinding people and the beam doesn't look like complete crap, its fine by me.
