I thought we were trying to involve the students again...if not then shit, of course Oakton makes more sense. My house could sleep plenty for MM vagrants for the record!

- CaptainHenreh - 12-12-2008

Yeah, if it gets built at Oakton, then my hat bet is off.

I don't think the students are going to do it without official JMU involvement.

Negative. As history has shown, they don't have time for it.

If it was close I'd be good for a day (and/or a few nights) a month to turn some wrenches.

Bawlin...my first car was supposed to be a 600 vert... Ended up with a v6 baron instead.

Edit- I feel like Kaan is trying to trick me into doing GRM...

we know those turbo mopars tickle your fancy... rex and i are leaning to fiero Wink at least so far... jump on and add input or be left out.

I would be up for doing plenty. I really think we should do a rwd platform though. I think the Oakton house would be an ideal location. I live not far awy and could give plenty of rides up to work on it, if no offense, it was a car worth working on. A piece of rotting chassis and a bunch of non-running engines is "too much" for random weekend projects when most people are very busy these days.

A decent chassis, and decent motor would go a long way towards GETTING to GRM. Yeah we wont win, but at least we will represent somewhat?

- Goodspeed - 12-12-2008

Kaan/Jeff/Mike/whoever else,

Could you point me in the direction of a GRM schedule for the upcoming event? If it is after our school's spring break, I'm sure I could get student involvement, and I for one am interested.

- HAULN-SS - 12-13-2008

i have a status unknown but was running when I pulled it SBC 350 to donate to any asshole wanting to put it in any car.

srsly? This makes me very happy. Being 2 hours the wrong way from h'burg, I can't say I'll be able to realistically help out with turning wrenches. Unless you want to keep it here, which you're welcome to. But I will buy the damn car if you guys will do the work.

My 2 cents in before graduation parties...I think this man has a plan!!! I will glady work on a fiero. Ill use my tricks of the trade working commercial manager to get us some sweet ass deals on some repair parts.

- Feersty - 12-13-2008

I loved Chan's Fiero!

- CaptainHenreh - 12-13-2008

Well, here's my only hangup with a fiero.

I love the idea, but I really really really don't want to get a Pre-88. And '88's are few and far between.

I think we could make a kickass fiero, and the road to both power and handling is well documented and inexpensive. And my mom had a fiero. They're bad ass.

So someone find a cheap '88. I am thinking auto, since there's more strong transmission options, then some kind of big engine. (Either 3800SC or SBC)

A GRM fiero... you have lost it.

Sounds like RJ is in!

Here is my deal... this can be a GRM project for a couple of years... we dont have to rush to get it into the 2009 event. with the amount of man hours teams are able to put in... AND with the rarity of the chassis... we need to be patient to get the ball rolling, and we need to be even more patient with the prep of the chassis itself.
