pretty sure a street is property of the government. But I don't think you'll have much trouble proving to the judge what your intent was as long as you have some good pictures. Just get what you want to say together, make it quick, be polite, don't waste his time, show him the pics, the cop should be able to verify you were on fumes, done.

- Sijray21 - 08-02-2004

man i hope it works out, it really sounds like you got stiffed hardcore by the damn po-po's.

i'd just further explain that you did not want to travel on the road for fear of breaking down, and that you used the side road to get to the station b/c of the fact that if you did break down it wouldn't be on a main road. then explain how you couldn't see that the side road did not connect to exxon, cuz it really looks like it would at night, just get day time comparo pic

- Mike - 08-02-2004

well i got the ticket at night, so that pic is accurate of what i saw.

and i'm not gonna lie about not breaking down. if i can't win with honesty then something stinks like shit (the law).

I hope maybe that cop figures out that pulling people over for that BS is a waste of a lot of people's time....

good work!

- Mike - 08-30-2004

danke, danke. i missed half a day of work, but i MIGHT work late to make it up... my new boss doesn't exactly have superb record-keeping skillz.

- Dragon - 08-30-2004

Screw working late, just charge a full day anyways, that's what I do.

Matt - who got in at 9:30, took an hour for lunch, is leaving at 5, and still charging 8 hours today.

And who just documented it on the web for ANYONE to see. Now that I've quoted it, he can't even erase the evidence by deleting his post...

- Dragon - 08-30-2004

meh, whatever. Boss don't care as long as the work gets done, and it's getting done.

- Mike - 08-30-2004

yeah same here. as long as work is done, i'm pretty free. i asked for a half-day, but he doesnt take note of it or anything... only reason i'd stay late is because i actually have a qa request that needs to clear to production today.

- Dragon - 08-30-2004

Ah that blows man, after I upload these 5 files to the production server, I'm technically done for the day. It's quite a task making a 10 minute task last an entire day.

- damnit458 - 08-30-2004

congrats! so do you still have to pay the court fees?

- Mike - 08-30-2004

nope. case was dismissed, i wasn't found "not guilty." i think if i was "not guilty" i would have had to pay... alas i don't know shit about court so i may be wrong.

- Feersty - 08-30-2004

Great news dude.
