- Apoc - 05-11-2008 While a decent camera, I wouldn't recommend the A series to meet his needs. -requires AA batteries, he's looking for rechargeable -twice as heavy -half the LCD -manual focus/aperture/shutter options (read: buttons) -larger form factor -the IS versions tend to be more expensive than SD series - Mike - 05-11-2008 <--- would also recommend against the a-series. got mom one... big mistake compared to what else was out there. - Andy - 05-12-2008 So it's the SD870IS. Does anyone know of any smokin' deals. I don't want to buy locally and have to pay sales tax. Buydig.com has the best price so far at 255 - Apoc - 05-12-2008 Amazon is $255 with free shipping. Clicky When you get a memory card, get this type. I got one for my wife when I bought her the SD600 and they're really freaking convenient. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-Plu ... gy_e_img_b
- Andy - 05-12-2008 Buydig has free shipping too and Amazon's free shipping can lick my balls. I would rather pay the 5 bucks and have it in my mitts within a few days. - Apoc - 05-12-2008 I get most amazon free shipping in 3-4. :dunno: Never heard of Buydig but that doesn't mean anything. - Andy - 05-12-2008 Good tip on the SD card. I'll get that. I've only ever ordered books from Amazon maybe the literati are lazy fucks :dunno: - Apoc - 05-12-2008 Ironically, I've never ordered a book from amazon because I only reads t3h internets! They have 2/4/8 gb versions so which you gets depends on your budget. I'm a bit paranoid about losing all my photos (although it's never happened) so I prefer to spread things out a bit. (2x2 vs 4x1) Note that memory cards have come a long way in the last few years and that's a completely irrational fear. edit: I just went back and looked, I've had 104 orders from amazon over the last 10 years. A lot are gifts but a lot are also multiple items per order. |
