No tickets. I used to nod to the troopers in the median. Dual power sliding doors ftw! (Nearly) Every car I ever saw pulled over was out of state and many of those w/ tinted windows. That's bs on the exhaust tickets...my car is loud and the inspection sticker has been dead for almost 2 years...no tickets. - l33t Mr2 - 05-02-2008 Steve85 Wrote:I drove an import from the chester to the burg everyday for 3 years w/ cruise set on 80. I dont know how people like you luck out!!! flintster55 PostPosted: May Thu 01, 2008 12:09 pm Post subject: So is the ticket in Rockingham County/Harrisonburg or another jurisdiction? yeah its in rockingham.. i think - JustinG - 05-02-2008 he lucks out cause he drives a domestic "Muscle Car", I don't care what people say, people profile those in modified imports - flintster55 - 05-02-2008 l33t Mr2 Wrote:yeah its in rockingham.. i think I would go to court for then man. I had good luck with courts here for only ticket I've gotten while at school. It was 16 over on Neff Ave. and the judge was really nice. He told me I could take a driver improvement course online and he would drop the ticket. So I did that and came away clean. It's a hassle to make it to court but sometimes you luck out. - Feersty - 05-02-2008 Besides college for 4 years, I have lived in NOVA my whole life, and never even been pulled over there. - CaptainHenreh - 05-02-2008 Feersty Wrote:Besides college for 4 years, I have lived in NOVA my whole life, and never even been pulled over there. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I humbly present.... MR, ROB FEERST!!! The world's safest, coolest, and most humble driver. Not only does he live in Northern Virginia *cue creepy organ music* but he also drives A CAR, and has never been pulled over! AMAZING! Believe it, or not! - mrbaggio - 05-02-2008 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Feersty Wrote:Besides college for 4 years, I have lived in NOVA my whole life, and never even been pulled over there. It's only because his car shakes if he goes to fast. In fact he CANNOT speed. - HAULN-SS - 05-02-2008 So are all those exhaust tickets worth it? - JackdaMak - 05-02-2008 Hey Matt... have you had many tickets in the past? I mean I was pulled over in Harrisonburg by city police for 56 in a 35 (RECKLESS) and the cop kept it at that. BUT he did say that the judge at the courthouse he usually deals with (i dont' know if he is the main judge or what) is softened up a little if an online drivers improvement course is completed before the court date. Shows a little bit of responsibility/remorse I guess? Being overly polite to the cop is a help too of course... Because I had taken that online course, and the cop mentioned by cooperation (which Im sure you did also), the judge dropped it completely and told me just to slow down lol... It was also pointed out that i was going downhill on Neff so I don't know if that played into anything or not. But Im pretty sure that online course thing did it for me too. Might not work but it was direct advice from the cop that pulled me over. He could have saved his time and just let me go. damn that was a long post. You're court date has probably already happend by the time i submit this shit. - JustinG - 05-02-2008 HAULN-SS Wrote:So are all those exhaust tickets worth it? I think so yes, considering im graduating and have never been bothered in Richmond for it. and the extra hp is a plus - .RJ - 05-02-2008 white97dsm Wrote:the extra hp is a plus Gotta k33p it reel on da sKr33tz! - Feersty - 05-02-2008 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Feersty Wrote:Besides college for 4 years, I have lived in NOVA my whole life, and never even been pulled over there. :? - jongp3 - 05-02-2008 Steve85 Wrote:(Nearly) Every car I ever saw pulled over was out of state and many of those w/ tinted windows. Can you really get a ticket for tinted windows with out of state plates? In Texas its legal for my car to have 20% Tint in the front and no limit on the back. I have 20% in the front and 5% in the back on my Acura. I've never been hassled for it by a VA cop. I've been pulled over once for a bad tail light, and been followed across town for no reason. Neither times did they mention my Tint and its pretty damn dark. I was planning to put an exhaust on my car over the summer, in hopes that im exempt from VA law, since my license and registration are in Texas. Anyone know a true answer on law for out of state drivers? - Ryan T - 05-03-2008 VA speeding laws really suck. I got pulled for 45 over (90 in a 45) passing other cars on a dotted yellow in Tennessee and didn't even get wreckless. Cop just gave me speeding, I mailed the county a money order for $143 and that was it. Granted if my mom hadn't been with me I probably would have gone to jail. - Mike - 05-03-2008 Ryan T Wrote:VA speeding laws really suck. Don't you have to get a VA license and plates after being here for a certain amount of time? I think military are the only ones exempt. - l33t Mr2 - 05-03-2008 flintster55 Wrote:l33t Mr2 Wrote:yeah its in rockingham.. i think what did you tell the prosecutor? - jongp3 - 05-03-2008 Feersty Wrote:Don't you have to get a VA license and plates after being here for a certain amount of time? But that doesn't answer mine, what if I was just visiting? - Apoc - 05-03-2008 jongp3 Wrote:Steve85 Wrote:(Nearly) Every car I ever saw pulled over was out of state and many of those w/ tinted windows. Yes you can. The law is written as "any vehicle operated on roads within Virginia" or some such nonsense. |
