- Dave - 04-11-2008 well, the cool thing is that the car has already been tarted up for me and is running great and never misses a beat, which I guess brings it out of project status. I'm just not interested in doing anything to the car which will jeapordize that. I'm not usually a fan of buying cars modified by a previous owner, so I had been searching for a clean, unmolested car, but I bent those rules when i knew the person (and therefore the car)... - Feersty - 04-12-2008 Glad to see that the NX met your eggspectations, Dave. lol - lillitnn92 - 04-12-2008 another great car Jason let go. first the 200sx se-r, then the classic se-r (which he never got paid for BTW) now the NX. good luck with it Dave! - JustinG - 04-15-2008 Sweet!!! ![]() ![]() "BAWLIN!!" ![]() GANGSTA ![]() Apparently these things are the shit in Europe, every time I search I get pulled to some ".de" website - Feersty - 04-15-2008 Damn Dave I was surprised you only had 2 vehicles in the stable. Okay now you got 3, that is more like David. - Dave - 04-30-2008 Quick and easy updates for today: Bled the brakes with SuperBlue. Pedal firmed up a tiny bit, but this was more just for peace of mind and b/c I do it to all my cars :-D. Changed the oil. Note to others, apparently not all SR20s use the same oil filter. I grabbed one for a USDM one, but apparently the JDM motors (or at least mine) uses the oil filter from a 1.6/1.8L Miata, FC RX-7, or the 2.0L VQ Sentra (I think). I swapped over to the catalytic converter and replaced an exhaust gasket for my state inspection, and then re-installed the test-pipe. I was really quite surprised how much the cat choked this car. It did, however, make the car a lot quieter, which I kinda miss... State inspection also needed an accordion boot on my rack to be replaced and recommended changing brake pads soon, I'll confirm this and give Carbotech a call. Picked up a used JWT Popcharger for half the price of new. Intake is louder, which I don't really like, but I bet it's breathing a ton better and therefore should be faster and potentially more fuel efficient. It came with a foam intake installed that Jason got for free, but I've never really gotten warm fuzzies from foam intakes. Just a personal taste... ![]() Overall, I'm still loving this car. 30+ mpg, fun to drive, good looking, the total package. Only things left I am interested in doing would be to open up the cat-back exhaust to 2.5" (yeah, it'll be louder, but I bet there's considerable power in it) and a cheap re-paint could be in its future after I take care of a little body repair. - CaptainHenreh - 04-30-2008 Battery relocation in future plans? - Dave - 04-30-2008 possible, but highly unlikely. I would rather pick up a little battery and turn it sideways to promote better flow to the filter. - Dave - 10-26-2008 Done quite a bit of work on this in the past few weeks to fix a few issues that were getting worse and just getting it running like new. I might post up some pictures, but for the most part you can't tell that anything has been done... -Replaced the clutch (B15 clutch disk, JWT pressure plate) Make sure you get the alignment tool perfectly straight and hold it in place while tightening the pressure plate down Removing the spark plus allows the crank to turn easier to align the input shaft when your putting the trans back on. -Replaced the throwout/clutch release bearing and clutch cable -Replaced both axle seals -Replaced driver's side axle (inboard boot had a hole in it) -Fresh MT90 trans fluid -Spark plugs and wires -PCV valve -Fuel filter -Distributor cap and rotor -Oil change -tie rod end boots -4 wheel alignment (OK, I paid for that...) -also replaced the front brake pads a while back Should be crossing 200k before the end of the year. Still saving me tons of money on gas, though I miss cruise control and the cabin is a little loud when holding a conversation (perfect for commuting though) - V1GiLaNtE - 10-29-2008 Thing looks very similar to a mazda mx3.... Any roots/similarities? - CaptainHenreh - 10-29-2008 V1GiLaNtE Wrote:Thing looks very similar to a mazda mx3.... Any roots/similarities? None at all, except that it was one of the 'MIni GT's': NX2000 CRX MX3 Isuzu Impulse Mitsu Colt Turbo (sorta) - ScottyB - 10-29-2008 what kind of rpm's does this thing pull at cruise on the highway? glad to hear its still running strong. - Dave - 10-29-2008 at 70mph, i'm sitting just above 3k on the tach. It's got a great balance in torque and power, I can't wait to see what it does on the track/autoX next year... - Dave - 05-13-2009 wow, been quite a while since I've updated this. Aside from prepping for a track day a couple months ago, nothing really going on with the Egg. Last weekend I pulled the fender to try to massage it a little bit. Before I got the car, the door was open and hit by a slow-moving van, in turn pushing forward and crimping up the fender. Ever since, the door has not had its full opening radius. The door now completely opens and looks significantly better. I didn't really try to get out all the dings b/c I wasn't trying to make the car perfect, just making it more functional and less of an eyesore. I've grown bored with the car recently and I think it's about time to move on. I could use the cash to finish up the garage and/or work on the Z, and I'm ready for something different.
