WRONG! Main priority is not ending up being burn victim number 2 and or getting run over by another car. Notice the flaggers do not have any fire protection. If it is reasonably safe for a flagger to help put the fire out by all means do it but jumping out of the stand to be a hero is the wrong thing to do.

In case you missed it the first time, they are Flagging and Communications, not Rescue.
As much as it sucks, you take that risk when you get in the car. Thats why you wear a firesuit, and supposed to wear nomex underwear, socks, balaclava, etc...
