$300+40. No, it was a WSOP Circuit event...a live tourny held in a real card room.

soooo you made like $200. forgive me for not being too excited.

Congrats Travis. Were you are Slim's table? It would be interesting getting to chat him up.

Stop deleting post. 99% of the shit we say is unnecessary.

I said it was a minor cash. The money wasn't the point of this post. It was about cashing in my first live multitable tournament ever, a tourny big enough to earn cardplayer.com player of the year points.

I was chip leader when I got moved over to his table. I found new ways to get quartered in pots with three people and halved in pots with me and another. When we went down to the final 18 he sat to my left.

I see. Well congrats on that then. Did you have any specific strategy you were using? Or just "play smart?"

I don't know what to tell you Mike. I feel like I'll get made fun of for stating the obvious but: Tournaments differ from cash games in how you win money. They also force you to pick hands in a different way. I prefer a very loose image in cash games where I will be able to go on picking hands to play for as long as I am at the table but in a tournament where the blinds and payout structure force your action I prefer to be thought of as very tight so that when I am forced into playing bad hands other players at the table may willl be less likely to call a showdown based on the quality of hands I have been showing.

Word. Yeah, I guess it really depends on the way things are going, who you're playing, etc... I guess that's poker, eh?

I typically only play with dolts... Usually pretty easy winnings. I spent some time online, double my money, took out my initial investment, and then lost the rest. Good, free entertainment for a few months.

Where do you play? I play with dummies too. It's great. Always looking for another game.

Just whenever a friend decides he wants to throw one. It's like once every 6 months.
