- Beej - 02-11-2008 Mike Wrote:i severely hate rattles, which my s doesn't have.Wtf are you serious? Mike Wrote:wind noise? oh well, that's what you get for not having a roof.Well yeah. I didn't say there wasn't a reason for it, just that it ain't a quiet car. Scotty, the only time I considered the S2000 a waste was when I had to take my girlfriend's car on a long trip (even though it was loud, I still preferred it to anything else...it was just a little more tiring) because I couldn't fit enough shit in it (which was more than once). My brother and I had to wear our jackets once because we literally couldn't put them anywhere else. Other than, I agree with Mike - I'd much rather sit in the S2000 in traffic, check it out in the reflection of other cars while waiting for it to open up and shit, than drive something more boring. - Apoc - 02-11-2008 Mike Wrote:i severely hate rattles, which my s doesn't have. I dunno... it might not have rattles but it seems creaky. Maybe that's just the jarring streets of Philadelphia but I definitely noticed something... different. - Mike - 02-11-2008 it creaks, yes. rattles? nah. if you have bad streets, it'll be loud. cruising in arlington, it rattles less than an '05 sti. philadelphia did some bad things to my baby... - Mike - 02-11-2008 oh and apparently i've put 16k on these rears. felt a lot shorter than that. the fronts have about double that. - Beej - 02-11-2008 Mike Wrote:it creaks, yes. rattles? nah. if you have bad streets, it'll be loud. cruising in arlington, it rattles less than an '05 sti. philadelphia did some bad things to my baby...Alright Collins. We're totally gonna have a rattle off (after that, wanna see who's car rattles more?). Mine is pretty creaky when it's cold, but after the cabin warms up, or if it's wamer than like 50 out, it's way better. I'd say the STi is definitely better than my S2000 was. - Mike - 02-11-2008 general road noise? yes. rattles? no. also in my corner, i get to have no roof for 3/4 of the year. using mikey rules, that means any noise heard with the top up is discounted 75%. mmmmk? - Mike - 02-12-2008 so the car is known to have an intermittent hesitation issue when under high stress. my car has always had this when my fuel level is low, but i didn't really care. there is a tsb saying it's the map sensor getting loose. what that has to do with my gas level, i don't know, but anyway... the tsb says to replace the map sensor since the movement could have actually caused the resistance of the unit to change? sounds crazy to me. they also say to add a ziptie to the new unit in order to keep it tight. i went the cheap route and attached a zip tie to the original sucker this morning. butt dyno (placebo?) says the car felt much smoother despite me being at like 5% of a tank. it started up without stumbling, which it often does when it is cold. yay zip ties! - WRXtranceformed - 02-12-2008 Ha ha ha, that's awesome that Honda recommends zip ties!! - Sijray21 - 02-12-2008 rofl zip ties for the win! - Mike - 02-12-2008 WRXtranceformed Wrote:Ha ha ha, that's awesome that Honda recommends zip ties!! they actually have a part number for it, and they don't call it a zip tie... it's a zip tie. - WRXtranceformed - 02-12-2008 It probably costs like $10 from the dealership too  |
