- Mike - 10-07-2007 pics look goody then! - Maengelito - 10-07-2007 .RJ Wrote: a coworker of mine grew up in the atlanta area and he said he used to go to all sorts of races at road atlanta back in the 70s and 80s (i think) and apparently this kink on the back straight wasnt there then. it led straight to that section with the blind apex downhill hock: :!:
- G.Irish - 10-07-2007 Yeah as I understand it Road Atlanta was godawful damned dangerous in the past. Now its just damned dangerous. While I was sitting in the media center in the last hour or two I heard, "Waaaa-WHUMP!!!". I actually felt the impact in the media building from the Maserati MC12 hitting the wall on the front straight. I wish I could find a replay of it though =( - .RJ - 10-07-2007 Maengelito Wrote:apparently this kink on the back straight wasnt there then. it led straight to that section with the blind apex downhill Yeah, the "gravity bowl" There used to be MORE elevation (another 30' or so) on the run down to T10, and back up towards the bridge - there's now a tunnel under the track instead. From what I've heard, you had to brake for T11 and your apex was the concrete on the inside of the bridge, you dont even notice there's a turn there now. - .RJ - 10-07-2007 ![]()
- ScottyB - 10-08-2007 sounds like it was a killer event - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 man..those ladies.....terrible - G.Irish - 10-08-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:man..those ladies.....terribleThe one on the right is okay but I agree on the other two. The odd thing was that only one team on the whole grid had umbrella girls. ALMS could learn a thing or two from motorcycle racing. There were quite a few good looking women in the paddock and what not but overall it was fairly sparse as one might expect. - Mike - 10-08-2007 mmm the one on the right. - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 yeah - i agree, she's not too bad..but nothing to write home about either. Maybe it's just the angle..straight aHEAD (like..thats all I can see) just doesn't work for some people - Mike - 10-08-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:yeah - i agree, she's not too bad..but nothing to write home about either. Maybe it's just the angle..straight aHEAD (like..thats all I can see) just doesn't work for some people you're wrong. - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 could I live with myself? yes. would it be ideal? nope - .RJ - 10-08-2007 Deersty, next time you can go take the pictures, ok? - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 I don't have a camera - G.Irish - 10-08-2007 Post the pics of the World Challenge girls - .RJ - 10-08-2007 Ask and ye shall receive... all 3 of them :/ - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 getting warmer - Apoc - 10-08-2007 still somewhat chilly tho - .RJ - 10-08-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:getting warmer Thats all I got - umbrella girls dont like standing outside in the rain, i suppose. - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2007 That's funny - cause I kind of like it when umbrella girls stand out in the rain |
