I commute to Summit so I won't be there until Sat morning so save me a space - HAULN-SS - 09-29-2007 I finally got my house - which is only like 10 mins from SP. Having never actually been to a track for any event..is there anything worth seeing if I stopped by? I *think* i'll be in town that weekend. - Andy - 09-30-2007 You could get a ridealong with someone. The first time out is pretty cool. - Nis01 - 09-30-2007 Andy Wrote:You could get a ridealong with someone. The first time out is pretty cool. Not to mention the TrackDaze group brings out some pretty high roller cars. Awesome to hear some of the high dollar Porsches scream by and it looks like at Shenandoah you can stand pretty close to about any part of the track. I'll be in Harrisonburg on Thursday and making my way down to SP on Friday at some point... perhaps even Saturday morning, I'll let you guys know closer to when time comes. At least we don't have to worry about not getting spots. Theres not a whole lot of cars signed up. - getfast - 09-30-2007 Next Sunday, test drive a new R32 or GTI on Jefferson Circuit with an instructor... all *free* thanks to TrackDaze and Volkswagen of America: http://www.trackdaze.com/events/VWoA/ In between Shenandoah sessions I mean  Jon - Maengelito - 10-01-2007 shea, you bringin the canopy again? - HAULN-SS - 10-02-2007 So - if you're doing ride-alongs will my motorcycle helmet work? It's DOT/Snell approved - Andy - 10-02-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:So - if you're doing ride-alongs will my motorcycle helmet work? It's DOT/Snell approved Yes - getfast - 10-02-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:So - if you're doing ride-alongs will my motorcycle helmet work? It's DOT/Snell approved If it has the orange Snell sticker and is M2000 or M2005, you're good to go. Jon Edit: M rated helmets may have a brown sticker, SA helmets are the ones with orange stickers - HAULN-SS - 10-02-2007 hrmm..i have no idea what those numbers mean..but it doesnt have an orange snell sticker. it has a sticker that's like some kind of rectangular shape with "DOT" in it, and "Snell" written across the top of the sticker - getfast - 10-02-2007 DOT approval basically just means it's legal to use on public roads. Pretty much all helmets have this approval, even those tiny plastic brain buckets the Harley guys like so much (which provide next to zero actual protection in an accident.) Snell approval means it's built to a common safety standard, has been tested, and may offer some measure of actual protection. Look inside the helmet, probably buried under the liner, for a metallic orange or brown Snell Foundation sticker. It's rectangular, maybe 1.5" long. Set into it in white letters will be "M2000" or "M2005" ... if it doesn't have either of these, or has a sticker that says "M95" or "M90"... then unfortunately it's not legal for TrackDaze. Here's what you are looking for: ![]() or ![]() Hope it helps, Jon - HAULN-SS - 10-02-2007 thanks, i'll check it out when I get home. - navin - 10-03-2007 Jon, do you know if there any spots in teh Saturday session left open? - getfast - 10-03-2007 AFAIK yes there are, but reg has closed. Email jeremy@trackdaze.com for details... Jon |
