I have a bunch of jack stands, and actually get a lot of use out of them Smile. I have 2 mustangs and only 1 lift :lol:
Sometimes I have to have the suspension loaded, big tall jackstands are nice for that.

How about replacing the battery? My cordless drill's batt took a dump on me. I picked up a battery for $40.

Hilariously enough I just went through the process.

My goodyear wrench one's battery took a huge dump, and could only order offline for 45+15 shipping. For not "all that great" of a cordless I wanted something actually nice with batteries aplenty and a good reputation.

I found that car and driver comparison and took a look at them. I wasnt willing to spend 260+ so it was mainly down to the milwaukee and Dewalt.

The milwaukee was odd holding, and the dewalt was a frigging beast. The ryobi felt perfect, had lithium batteries, is a well known brand so I Went with it. I couldnt be happier, holds its charge FOREVER, no problem taking out anything, lightweight (its one of the lightest), and is comfortable. I havent had the battery issue that the car and driver talked about, im assuming it was a fluke or bad batch, or hell I must have gotten lucky.

After brand new impact, battery, cordless station for the lithium battery, it came out around $160. Well worth it IMO.

For the record, we bought my dad a big set of Ryobi cordless tools. (no impact). But they're all dead now. I don't just mean the batteries, I mean the tools themselves.

Meanwhile my E30-Destroying DeWalt Sawzall keeps going strong. Just my $.02

I got an impact off of Amazon for Xmas this past year. Has been working well for what I want it for, removing wheels, I'd like to pick up a second battery, but it holds its charge pretty well. Space is not really an issue for me so a compressor and proper pneumatic tools are in my future. Hence the cheapness of my impact, think it ran the in-laws about $80.

I'm considering a Craftsman 19.2v impact gun. I don't have a huge need for one, but I do travel a lot, and I want to make quick work of potential flat tires.

I already have a 19.2v drill/driver combo, so I have two batteries and a charger for the gun. It only makes sense to drop the cash for only the gun. I've used the Craftsman stuff for several years, and the only problems I've had is a sticking trigger in the driver, which seems to have cured itself. I'd love to buy a Snap-On or a Matco gun, but Jeesh they are high in price, and I don't use them on an every day basis.

Has anyone used the Firestorm black and decker? I have a few of their coordless 18v drills and saws and such. They are awesome, and have never given any problems. I know the drills had two grades - the cheap one that came in the kits, and the standalone with better features + adjustable chuck, etc. I was looking at their impact driver a while back, but I havent bit the bullet yet.

Black and Decker are all I have ever used, including working for my uncles construction company several years ago, and they were always rock solid.

Also, jumped a truck with an 18v battery once from one of them. Worked for that too.

That would be my first choice, for sure, if I had more use for one. I don't do any track days or anything, and I use air at work and home, so I would basically use a cordless occasionally if I was doing work at someone elses house/in a driveway. We always used one on my former shop foreman's race car, and Snap-On is definitely worth the price if you really need it.

My oldest one is about 5 yrs old now and still holding up strong. I have a 18v 1/2 drive gun, a 14.4 3/8 gun, 12v 3/8 gun, 9.6 3/8 gun and a 7.2 1/4 gun. All snap-on. I do a lot of internal trans work so that is why I have the need for the different size guns. Valve bodies and such. My boss bought a 14.4 blue point gun which is a cheaper version of the snap-on gun. It works great and was only like about $200.

Good to know on the Blue Point. There is no middle ground with Blue Point, it's either amazing or junk.
