Considering how much of a PITA it is to drop trans, replace everything, even the through out bearing, they are cheap. - .RJ - 05-16-2007 white_2kgt Wrote:Considering how much of a PITA it is to drop trans, replace everything, even the through out bearing, they are cheap. +1 I could have the trans out, split the cases, reassemble it and put it back in the car in under 3 hours on the racecar... but it sucked every single time I did that. - Maengelito - 05-16-2007 .RJ Wrote:RJ doesnt need to work on any busted ass hondas hows the bike doin? - .RJ - 05-16-2007 Maengelito Wrote:hows the bike doin? I never have to work on it, so its doing great
- ziich - 07-31-2007 So RJ pretty much hit the nail. Cracks around 3 of the spring seats. Question now is, can I replace just the clutch disc, keeping the pressure plate reliably? Or should I just bite the bullet and replace the whole thing? yay! shards of metal in my crankcase! - ziich - 07-31-2007 Also, where would you go in NOVA to get a flywheel resurfaced? Should I bring my pressure plate along too and get that done as well? - Andy - 07-31-2007 ziich Wrote:Also, where would you go in NOVA to get a flywheel resurfaced? Should I bring my pressure plate along too and get that done as well? You can resurface your flywheel at any machine shop. You can't machine the pressure plate. It looks like you have the exedy sport disc setup which means you have to buy it as a set. The disc that exedy sells separately is a stock replacement not the sport disc. - ScottyB - 07-31-2007 wow, that's a clutch...problem....all right. lordy. - .RJ - 07-31-2007 Where's my cookie? ![]() I said no more busted ass hondas but I helped seabass take the engine out of his racecar on sunday. Fucking hondas. - Andy - 07-31-2007 .RJ Wrote:Where's my cookie? what is it about hondas that makes it susceptible to breaking springs? - Evan - 07-31-2007 ive never resurfaced my flywheel fwiw, even when going from street disc to 4 puck race - .RJ - 07-31-2007 Andy Wrote:what is it about hondas that makes it susceptible to breaking springs?
- white_2kgt - 07-31-2007 Replace the pressure plate along w/ the clutch disc. Anywhere that turns brake rotors should be able to turn a flywheel. - ziich - 07-31-2007 Evan Wrote:ive never resurfaced my flywheel fwiw, even when going from street disc to 4 puck race is that like... a miata thing? - .RJ - 07-31-2007 ziich Wrote:is that like... a miata thing? I've never resurface a flywheel either. - Andy - 07-31-2007 .RJ Wrote:ziich Wrote:is that like... a miata thing? +1 Juan. If the FW is damaged, or knicked then you should. - white_2kgt - 07-31-2007 .RJ Wrote:ziich Wrote:is that like... a miata thing? me either, I just buy new ones. - ziich - 08-01-2007 hmm well. i only put 5k miles on this flywheel. still smooth, guess I can do without too. |
