400 will be leaking gas no more next week!

I am going to come over and do a burnout on your lawn.

I'm still interested in cars of that era, but when I was a kid I was insanely into hot rods, 50's sleds and muscle cars. I got a subscription to HOT ROD when I was 12 and I still know more about pushrod motors than I do about new fangled overhead cam FI stuff haha. I used to be mesmerized by Milner's '32 5 window and Falfa's bad '55. Also where I'm from in N. California there is a huge hot rod/muscle car scene, heres some pics from the most recent show I went to last summer, its every Friday night....

My God that first car looks sooooo close to scratching his sideskirt on the curb!!!

Most of those cars are mega cool except for this ricer:

That is the biggest Ebay wing I think I've ever seen on any vehicle. Ever!

For the record, that's my next project. Not a ford, but an old Chevy truck. Restomod ftw.

- HAULN-SS - 03-16-2007

Do you even have a current project?

No chance it will make it here before breaking again.

Can't find a pic easily but I want one of these in grey/white.

You don't set your goals very high, wanting to build a chevy.

I like just about anything from the 30s and 40s, and basically only Fords from the 50s and 60s.

I might have a thing for old cars:
My TR6 (the good one):

I also have in my storage area that my dad and I rent:
67 Triumph GT6
75 Triumph TR6
63 Thriumph TR3
66 Buick Riviera
I paid $500 totally for all these at a junkyard that was going out of business, and the cars are not in that bad of shape, just no time to work on them

My dad also has a couple old Austin Healy's, as well as a Volvo that was originally used on an old TV show

- Apoc - 03-16-2007

I don't think I've ever heard of a junkyard going out of business. How does that happen?

- BLAIR - 03-16-2007

probably an old yard that is being sold becuase the land is worth so much, its not worth it to run a yard anymore.. seen that happen before. not really going out of buss. more so closing down buss.

- HAULN-SS - 03-16-2007

or being family owned and the owner dies or something

- Scott - 03-16-2007

HAULN-SS Wrote:or being family owned and the owner dies or something

that is exactly what happened. The old man had cars from the 30's on up, keep everything, and when he died, his son wanted to part of it, so everything went up for auction

- JustinG - 03-17-2007

well....my dream may be comming true sooner than i expected, My dad gives me a call this morning and he and my mom are headed down to NC to check out a 56 ford with an olds motor in it. Running condition, some body rust, he saw the pics but isnt sure of its actual condition. Ill post pics later.

- HAULN-SS - 03-17-2007

If that doesnt pan out for them, I know where there's a 57 ford that already has a flame job, wooden bed I think, needs restoration, but was running last time i knew

- WRXtranceformed - 03-17-2007

Our family had a '34 Ford Model T with the suicide doors and the whole 9. I really wish we had kept it so I could restore it.... it was dirty but overall in about 50% condition. My dad sold it to a guy who was going to turn it into a hotrod I think, at least that's a cool way for it to go!
