Any gain from that sort of thing on the launch would be lost as soon as you have to turn the car.

Do some searching on FSAE to look at the kind of things they're using if you're interested.

for those that are interested I can post the design report for last years car:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://engineering.dartmouth.edu/dfr/DesignReport.pdf">http://engineering.dartmouth.edu/dfr/DesignReport.pdf</a><!-- m -->

This years car should be similar with basically the same engine layout but with more b00st, but an entirely new front suspension. We'll also be incorporating paddle shifters and ideally some kind of launch control. Kind of like ghetto traction control that would only be for acceleration runs. There will be some other neato burrito goodies on the car too that are apparently secret now, but I'll tell you all about them later when the car is finished.

and yes... that thing is very fun to drive.

Careful about adding too many technology goodies... you'll never finish the car and get it fully tested/sorted out if you have too much stuff to build Smile

That's my worry too. Luckily it's designed so we'll have a full working car within about a week, and then slowly add all the crazy gadget things people have been working on all year.

All I care about is getting the pneumatic shifting working correctly. Maybe it would be cool for you motorcycle guys, but I don't like the hand clutch.

lol, says the guys with, 1971 Monte Carlo SC, in his sig :lol:

You do know what that big round thing right in front of you when driving is for right? Smile

Heh? I just thought it was just for holding on?
